More than I couldve hoped.

I already have a great 15.6 laptop. I wanted a smaller, more portable tablet that would integrate with my Samsung Galaxy Note8 phone. This was the obvious choice for me. When I got it, I backed up my phone data and restored it to this tab. I then customized the app arrangement and screen settings, to my liking. I had never used DeX before, but it was simple to learn. One thing to remember, when you close (x-out of) a program, its not closed. Periodically, look in the lower left corner for the status bar (same three button layout as on your phone). Tap on the recents button and close all. This will help you to keep the tab snappy. I really like the display. The super amOLED display is gorgeous. On YouTube, you have an option in settings for dark mode background. You may want to try this, as I have read that dark backgrounds help save battery life. I find the effect pleasing, if used sparingly. I bought the tablet bundled with the Samsung keyboard for only $53 more than tab only. Thats good value. I only got the 64gb storage option. However, Ive ordered and added a 128gb microSD card. I read someone complain about the keyboard having an on-screen keyboard button as being rediculious. Not really. Im typing this review in bed, in total darkness. Without that button, I would not be able to type this review at this time, as the keyboard is not backlit. It all makes sense to me. It works and saves battery. Ive only had this tablet for about 5 days, but I like it very much. If you need a full function laptop, you may be disappointed. This is not that. The beauty of this device, for me, is its portability, integration with my Samsung phone, and that gorgeous screen. Battery life is great. By the way, all of my phone apps (100+) loaded on this tab, except Galaxy Wearable. I cant communicate with my new Samsung Galaxy watch on it. I must continue to use my (smaller screen) phone for that. Others have said that they lost their s-pin. This is a true issue. Be careful not to loose yours. However, I have verified that my Note8 s-pen works on this tab, and vice-versa. I highly recommend this tab, if your needs match its capabilities.

This is my first real tablet. Im owned plenty of desktops, laptops, and Kindle devices over the years, but never saw much use for a tablet. Assuming the technology should have finally caught up with tablets to make them more than just portable notebooks, I decided to try this device when it became available through Vine. Im underwhelmed.

Great tablet for work or leisure.

My daughter has been using this tablet exclusively (and nearly continuously sometimes) since I bought it in Nov 2019 for Christmas. She loves it.

Face/iris scan to unlock device works sporadically and half of the times it wont work at all and I end up having to to manually type in the password, even after resetting the intelliscan multiple times. Also privacy concerns since I cant disable or cover the camera unless I want to manually write password to open the tablet. S pen will work sporadically and is unreliable even after replacing the tip.

Love it so far. Does split screen great and the apps work well. Absolutely love the pen too!! I recommend. Tried the Google pixel slate and it was terrible as a tablet, this Samsung s4 is definitely a great tablet. This is replacing my Samsung 10.1 tm520?? One.
