Great little SSD Ext drive. I formatted with Exfat so I could transfer files between my pc and Mac.

Saved me so much space on my laptop that I ended up buying a second one for my boyfriend. Surprisingly durable. My cat tends to throw it off the computer table and its managed to survive several impacts over the year. Also you might wanna buy the storage case for them. One, less cats being cats, less damage when not in use and two, easy to carry with you.

So first couple of test copies on a high end Mac via USB-C were able to move the data at 220MB per second. Tried mounting on a Linux VM and it went down to the 80s so well use the Mac for now.

For a portable SSD this a great little unit. Physically, its much smaller than Id expected, which was a pleasant surprise, as was the quality of construction. Even better, the transfer rates are fast. Stepping up from old HDD externals or USB sticks, this unit transfers multi-GB video files in much short times. Not particularly cheap, but well worth the price.

great fast enough

plugged it into my computer, did the samsung setup, and got into transferring items. the storage kept disconnecting at a whim and all of a sudden, just stopped working. ejected it, plugged it back in, and my computer stated acting like some 1990 artifact, taking for ever to open apps and even the eject menu. I/O and perimeter problems started showing up and just isn’t worth the hassle. keep scrolling for something else, this isn’t it

I have used this on many shoots and it has never let me down. I record directly from the BMPCC6k to this and it provides ample storage and is quick. It is also nice to just unplug and start editing from the drive and not have to transfer everything over to another drive. I highly recommend the Samsung T5 drives. They can be more expensive than other brands but the portability, speed, and reliability are well worth the price to me!

Works well. Super fast. Not fully sure about durability as weve only had it for a few weeks, but so far, so good.
