> 24 hourThis notebook is a replacement for my current STM in purple. This time, I opted for the plain Pro cover in green. While my notebook arrived and is beautiful, its green with the embossed cover. I now wouldnt buy these for others due to the risk of getting them the wrong journal, but I am a big fan of these notebooks overall. The paper thickness is wonderful, the dots are just right, and theyre very sturdy. I also love the pen, its loop, and back pocket! If I had one complaint about construction overall, it would be requesting a third ribbon bookmark. Its not a dealbreaker for me, (I just sew one in) but it could be annoying for someone else.

> 24 hourI read all I could focus my eyes on about bullet journaling. It’s nothing new it’s just a new take on keeping an appointment calendar only a lot more fun. First step was to find a blank journal with thick dotted paper that will stand up to watercolor brush pens and markers. There is even a test page to see if the medium you choose can be used without bleeding. Scribbles fits the bill for just about any supplies you choose. The only drawback is their availability and cost. The asking price can be anywhere from 20 to close to 400 bucks on the secondary market like eBay. (400 bucks is insane by the way) Amazon has the most availability and the most reasonable price. You’ve got to jump on them when you see them. They go fast. They can be used as a regular journal or a bullet journal where you can turn loose your creative spirit. They come in several beautiful colors and a couple different sizes. You won’t be disappointed.

> 24 hourThis is my first Scribbles That Matter journal and right off the start I am very pleased with it. The cover is so smooth and soft and it’s such a beautiful color. The paper is a lovely bright white, thick, smooth and numbered that held up very well to different mediums. I decided to use watercolor and paint pens on the first page and neither of them bled through, as you can see on the July calendar page. There was some wrinkle in the page but I did use a lot of water to lighten up some of the areas on the page. I was very impressed with the way it held up not only the structure of the page but the colors stayed true. The gold that I started to use on the July calendar page is a paint pen as well and did not show through on the moon page. I thought I would push my luck and try stamping to see if that would show through and it did not!! ( You can see this on the blank photo) If you’re looking for a journal that holds up to different mediums than I would say to try this one. The only thing I didn’t like is that it gave one page for a pen test, but that’s something that can easily be fixed by making your own.

> 24 hourBought the turquoise one last year for my Bujo. To get started on 2020, I purchased the navy blue one. A few disappointing differences between last years version and this years version. Last years version had 201 creamy, off-white pages. This years version has only 157 pages which are nearly stark white. This page color change is already annoying to me and I havent even started writing in it yet. Disappointed in the smaller number of pages as well. I pretty much have my Bujo process down to a science and really need around 180 pages for it so I will need to shorten some items. The reason I purchased this brand again is due to the page thickness - they are the thickest I have found...and much better than the LEUCHTTURM1917 that everyone raves about (the pages on that one consistently bleed through no matter the pen due to thin pages). But the reason there are fewer pages in this years model is because the pages are even thicker than last year - they feel almost like two pages are stuck together. Since I have several weeks before 2020 begins, I might search around and see if any other brands have updated their offerings and might have a higher number of pages. If I had not been spoiled by last years model, these changes might not bother me so much - the most important things to me are that ink does not bleed through and the book doesnt fall apart. This years model seems to be as well made as last years so it might not be too bad.

> 24 hourThis was my best purchase ever! I am in love with this journal and will buy it over and over again! I did buy a dingbat journal which I was not so impressed with but it was bigger than the scribbles journal. Im not sure which one is not the correct measurement for an A5 but Ive included a picture of the difference. There is minimal ghosting which Ive included pictures of as well. I actually love ghosting as long is there is no bleeding (and there isnt!). I would also like to mention I tend to press hard and am pretty heavy handed with ink, that being said I have yet to find the imprint on the next page which means this paper is pretty thick!

> 24 hourI had high hopes for this journal. Those hopes have been dashed after getting started with my bullet journal efforts. I started with the key and pen test after noticing terrible bleed through. The paper isnt thick enough for the markers and calligraphy pens I have including a pilot fountain pen. What an incredible bummer. I cant use this journal.

> 24 hourThis is an excellent journal, but not for me. Heres why: PROS: - 160gsm paper. This paper is thick! Perfect for artistry or bullet journals. - The dot grid is lightly printed on the page. Enough to see without disturbing entries. STM even added a center crosshair dot and side bar dash-dot to help center any work. - Numbered pages - Index - Two ribbons - The hardcover is solid and has a great feel. Shiny. Not slippery (I am reviewing the white journal). - Pen holder tab (included is a free fine point pen) - The journal comes packed in a hard case with an opening on the binder side. - Pages are stitched to the binding. CONS - The paper is pure white and smooth. (This is a personal preference con.) I prefer an off-white paper with some texture. This is supposed to be a lay-flat journal. I did not test this as I plan to return it and did not want to break in the binding. Also, I did not do a pen test for ghosting or bleed for the same reason. I will reiterate that the 160gsm paper is quite dense. Honestly, STM has made an amazing journal for the price. This company seems to have paid close attention to details in making their product. I would take this dot grid over other more popular brands if not for the texture of the paper, and that is simply my personal preference.
