Essentially bought at a slightly premium because Seagate is a well-known name, and to avoid messing around retrospectively installing heat spreaders or thermal paste (the heat sink is preinstalled on this, unlike the Sabrent). Im slightly concerned that the heat sink seems to be a solid lump of metal rather than having any fins that would increase surface area (like the holes in the WD_BLACK, which doesnt come in 4TB, or the fins on the Sabrent which replaces the SSD compartment lid); Im sure itll be fine for distributing heat during bursty behaviour as a heat spreader, but Im not so sure itll make the best of the fan in continuous operation. However, Im no cooling engineer, so hopefully Seagate know what theyre doing. It seems to work, and installation was easy enough (once Id correctly interpreted the Sony instructions on how to remove the cover). Reviews imply that PS5 SSDs work fine without a heatsink, theyll just slow down (although I doubt its good for them to run hot), so fingers crossed.

Ich habe die SSD nun seit längerem in meiner PlayStation 5 im Einsatz. Bisher läuft diese einwandfrei, es können auch keine Unterschiede zur Standard SSD festgestellt werden. Der Einbau war ebenso problemlos.

love this ssd. i had a 1tb one in ps5 and upgraded to this 2tb. I now have the 1tb in my gaming pc and these are the best ssd with long lifespan.

Its a must have if you own a PS5 and especially if you have a PS plus subscription. The drive is super snappy and easy to install all your favourite PS5 titles on to your system.

Premium looking product. Purchased to expand storage capacity on PS5, so ideal that it comes pre fitted with heat sink, keeping to the dimensions required snuggly fit in the M2 memory slot bay.

It’s really incredible how fast these run. I’ve had one installed for about 3 years now as my main drive for os and applications and and it’s “old faithful” delivering high speed operations consistently. Just purchased my second one and will use it for fast storage of video files and games. My only complaint is the price which continues to be excessive in comparison with other equivalents out there.
