bought as a gift. they said these have the best sound quality out of any pair of headphones they’ve ever tried!

I took a chance and pre-ordered HD560S without reading reviews. Even taking into consideration the usual marketing hyperbole from Sennheiser, I figured these should still be fine headphones and worth the $200 asking price. Im glad to report that HD560S have exceeded all my expectations by wide margins. These are truly excellent headphones whose imaging capabilities and detail retrieval not only far exceed competitors in the same price range but are also markedly superior to those of HD600 and DT880. The tuning of HD560S is neutral, clarity is excellent, and timbre is spot on. The sound stage is much wider and deeper compared to HD600. They are also incredibly transparent, adding no unwanted flavor or color to recordings. HD560S are now truly my favorite headphones for classical music, dethroning both HD600 and DT880. Needless to say, if you are a fan of hip-hop or bass-heavy genres, you should avoid HD560S as you would the police or child support; but if you are a lover of classical music, then HD560S is a no-brainer must-have.

I saw many people saying these headphones were great, especially for the price-range. I found them almost painful to listen to: extremely muffled and tinny - the cheap USB headset Ive had for 10 years sounds vastly more clear. I spent days trying to fix these: installing and reinstalling drivers, consulting tech support guides, etc. I talked to someone with a similar problem who said an external DAC had helped, so I bought one. Nothing made these headphones sound better, though. Now Im returning them. I saw a review here when I bought these saying what Im saying now. I should have listened...

Best set of headphones I’ve ever owned. Wish the included cable terminated in a 3.5 instead of just including an adapter.

You can find a million reviews for these phones and they are very well thought of and they mostly met my expectation. Ill give a few places there they did not.

The clamping force was tight, real tight, BUT!. I have a huge head, Im talking 3x hat territory. and after storing it stretched over the box it came in when not in use for 2-3 nights it now fits very comfortably. 8-12 hours of use per day has been very pleasant. My primary use is for Gaming and the sound, footsteps and directional awareness is great. for movies and music, the sound and sound stage can not be beaten. I have nothing but good things to say about HD 560 S

I use these for most fps games; csgo, valorant, fortnite, and they create a good soundstage and have good sound, even for music. Horrible noise cancellation but that is to be expected as these are open back headphones, be wary if you like to have your volume up as sound leaks a lot with these

I use them mainly for listening to music and playing games (Overwatch, smite, CSGO, etc.). And for ~$150, these are unbelievable. The details that you can hear all throughout the mid range, combined with the smooth and clear treble. Its extremely easy to distinguish different instruments, especially with dual guitar leads where with most headphones, the sound gets mushed together.
