These headphones deliver the truest, clearest sound that Ive ever heard from a digital source. This might be a cliche, but with high quality source audio you can close your eyes and its like youre in the recording studio with the artist. You hear a lot of people talk about bass when they talk about headphones. And one of the things youll hear about Sennheisers is that it doesnt have the fullest bass of all the headphones out there. And what people really mean when they say that is that these dont have the -loudest- bass out there. But when it comes to quality, you cant beat the clarity and definition of the bass you get from these guys. You can really hear the unique tambre of the vibrating strings on a bass guitar, and the punchy hits of the drums. You wont get the overblown, muddy and washed out bass thats simply loud and amorphous that many other headphones deliver. Particularly overhyped, overpriced headphones with big advertising budgets. Big ad budgets dont lead to quality sound. Precision engineering and high quality materials do, and thats what you get with Sennheiser. I know I talked a lot about bass, because thats a big concern for many. But the overall sound quality is the real draw of these headphones. They deliver accurate, crisp, well defined sound that is shockingly good. Youll want to sit and just re-listen to your music library with these, because youre going to catch all the nuance that you were never able to before.

Premetto che non sono un audiofilo, ma so riconoscere e apprezzare le qualità sonore di una cuffia. Posso garantire che questo modello della Sennheiser ha un eccellente bilanciamento dei toni bassi e alti. Se volete apprezzarne al meglio le potenzialità dovete collegarle a un amplificatore, tuttavia anche collegate allIpod o allo smartphone rendono bene. Dal punto di vista della comodità e della qualità costruttiva non ho nulla da eccepire. Sottolineo lottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Buon ascolto a tutti!

Sound quality is fantastic, they are comfortable for long periods of time.

I ultimately returned these. I was looking for something to replace my old Bose Quiet Comfort headphones and I thought these would do it. The cups are soft and comfortable, but the rest, not so much. The sound quality wasnt impressive. I have a smaller set of Sennheiser whose sound quality blows these away. They also were so tight, theyd press the arms of my glasses to the point where my glasses popped off the bridge of my nose. They seemed good but had too many uncomfortable flaws for me, especially with the mediocre sound quality. Thats not to disparage Sennheiser in general since I love my other set, but these just werent worth the money at all.

Felt compelled to write review because of the nay-sayer arguments. (1) Sound quality - excellent out of the box. Soundstage and range brings smooth clarity to all ranges and feeling like you are listening to the band in a large room full of sound. (2) Bass - I have seen some criticism of bass, but they must have blown out their bass ears. I think this was the most impressive feature, clear, smooth bass. Unless you are the guy with a home subwoofer on the back seat of your car, this will be pleasing. (3) Build quality - nice look, light, padded well on top, velour on the ear. It is all plastic, so I dont know the long-term survival. (4) Features - this comes with adapter for big amplifier, computer, and portable device. I would say that most nay-sayers got caught up in obvious features, like the open back (reminder, this is not the headset to take on the plane, it is for your quiet moments).

Ganz klar: die Sennheiser Kopfhörer sind Markenprodukte, und das merkt man spätestens beim Klang. Ich durfte die Kopfhörer nun eine Weile testen und bin einfach begeistert :) Egal ob Orchestermusik, Rap oder Rock- die Kopfhörer machen aus fast jedem Musikstück ein gutes Klangbild. So klar, fein nuanciert- aber auch ganz normal: schlechte Musikqualität brechen auch diesen Kopfhörern das Genick. Man sollte also nicht erwarten, wenn man Lieder hat die man mit normalen Kopfhörern aufgrund deren schlechten Quali (Musik) nur ok fand, mit diesen was reisen kann: das nicht. Schlecht bleibt mit sehr guten Kopfhörern eben nur noch schlechter ;) Bei guter Musik leistet der Kopfhörer jedoch ordentliche Arbeit: durch den Surroundreflekor (spezielle Sennheisertechnologie) hat man das Gefühl direkt mit im Konzertsaal zu stehen, so eine gute Räumlichkeit wird dem genussvollen Musikliebhaber vermittelt - herrlich. Ich empfehle mal den Bolero zu hören (klassische Musik) = Gänsehautfeeling!!! Auch der Tragekomfort der Hörer ist biblischen Ausmaßes: durch die fetten, weichen Polster hat man das Gefühl Wolken auf seinen Ohren zu haben. Ganz großes Pluspunkt: man kann die Polster abmachen und waschen (nach ein paar Monaten/Jahren ist sowas immer ganz fein). Auch kann man diese wie Verschleißteile handhaben und ersetzen. Die Höhrermuscheln sind zudem riesig! Egal ob kleines oder großes Ohr: die Muscheln umschließen das komplette Ohr und man hat demnach eine viel bessere Akustik! Zudem überraschen die Höhrer aufgrund ihrer Leichtigkeit. Ich war überrascht wie leicht sie doch sind- sehen sie doch etwas kompakt und monströs aus ;) Alles in allem bin ich wirklich begeistert von den Sennheisern! Besonders klassische Musik klingt einfach wunderbar und ich genieße nun meine freien Minuten in denen ich mich entspannt zurück lehnen kann und mithilfe der Kopfhörer in andere Welten entschwinde! Der Anschaffungspreis lohnt sich definitiv- eine Preisklasse in der sich der Mehrwert deutlich lohnt zu investieren.

Amazing audio by these cans, you need a DAC for them to really shine. They are also very comfortable(with specs), they sound better than HD 555s and also have more defined bass.
