Sigma 150-600mm 5-6.3 Contemporary DG OS HSM Lens for Canon

I purchased the Sigma 150-600m lens in hope of using it to photograph the August 21 solar eclipse. Unfortunately, the weather in my area did not cooperate and missed the eclipse altogether. I am an amateur photographer so a purchase like this was a big commitment. However, while missing the eclipse was disappointing, this lens has been more that I could have asked for. After some research, I initially had decided on an equivalent Tamron lens, but made a last minute decision based on a few reviews to go with the Sigma – very happy I did. The lens arrived with a very nice padded carrying case, case strap, a mounting ring for tripod shooting and the necessary caps. The lens feels solid and looks to be of very good build quality.

Got this lens after a lot of review reading and after a few trips out absolutely delighted. As in previous comments, it is quite heavy but can be hand held with good results, though I am going to get a gimbal.

All the images above were taken with the Sigma 150 - 600 Contemporary. So pleased I made the purchase its excellent for Nature, Airshows, and Socially Distant Portraits :-)

Only played around with this so far. It is brilliant. I have had to invest in a monopod as the lens is quite heavy. Very excited to use it for real!

Teleobiettivo fantastico! Bisogna fare un po di pratica nel maneggiare i suoi due chilogrammi, ma in quanto a proprietà ottiche è davvero fantastico! Indicato per chi ama escursioni e sport!!!

Great lens! Very sharp out to 600mm. Used it the other night for a moon photo included with the following setup: Sony a7rii + Commlite adapter + Canon Sigma 150-600 at f/16 iso-125, at 1/50th of a second @ 600mm.

This was my first time buying an off brand lens and I was pleasantly surprised. Considering Nikon 500mm is $3,500 this lens is a steal. Especially considering with a range of 150-600mm it is much more dynamic than other fixed lenss on the market.

I read lot of reviews before buying this product, here is my verdict.

Not as good in low light
