Sigma 150-600mm 5-6.3 Contemporary DG OS HSM Lens for Canon

I use it for aviation photography. And I find myself using it more than a smaller lighter just as capable 70-300. I like having the range, and the capability to go auto or manual whenever I want it

Was surprised on how heavy the lens was. Only had one opportunity to use it, definitely needed the tripod.

Great picture quality, I use this lens on a Canon eos 50d and has been everything I needed from a 600mm lens.

I replaced a Nikon 80-400mm with this lens and am delighted with the swap. Now, the 80-400mm is a great lens and served me well on a photo safari to South Africa, a couple of years ago. But, the 80-400mm will not acommodate a Nikon telecoverter, so its reach stops at 400mm. In contemplation of a trip up to Churchill to photograph Polar Bears, I sold the 80-400mm and invested in this lens, for which I already owned the Sigma 1.4 teleconverter. My thinking was that this lens (unlike the Sport model, which I already owned) could be used hand-held in a pinch and when ancored against a solid surface, would provide ample stability for sharp telephoto work. AND I WAS RIGHT! This thing is a jewel, and is it sharp? Check the accompanying photo shot at 850mm.

Verwende dieses Objektiv an meiner NIKON D500.

Wunderschön designt und verarbeitet - Zoomring und Schalter laufen solide und angenehm. Das Gewicht ist für den Brennweitenbereich sehr niedrig - aber bei bester Verarbeitung.
