> 3 dayFinally opened this product to prepare for a two week trip. Unfortunately the product is not recognized by my brand new MS Surface Pro. Very disappointing. The product arrived packaged well, ready to go and in solid condition. The 2TB HD is perfectly sized and able to fit in my pocket if needed. The rubber drop point make me feel very secure and confident with this product - a little worried about a flat drop as there are no rubber impact points on the two flat surfaces. I love how the USB attaches to the HD to keep everything together. I would still recommend a small case just to keep things together. Happy with product just not happy it wont connect to my tablet.

> 3 dayThis has been going strong for me for over a year now. I bought it when I was in Afghanistan so its been shipped around the world a couple times and it still works like new. While I havent dropped it yet, the shock proof design (they say its been tested) is the main reason I wanted this one. Ive lost hard drives in the past from giving them a little bump and I didnt want to lose another. It really does seem to be a rugged hard drive and I anticipate many more years of use. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who plans on moving the thing from time to time.

> 3 dayThis doesnt work like its supposed to. Ive used many hard drives before and theyve all worked fine. Like another reviewer said it shuts off randomly and can barley transfer 3 GB worth of stuff. I ordered a TB hard drive and this is definitely not it. The manual isnt in english and isnt even for the right model. Ive watch several videos about this hard drive too just to make sure i wasnt doing anything wrong and it still wasnt working correctly. I will not be returning because i am not able to transfer the items back to my labtop. I have contacted the company and amazon and hopefully i will be able to get refund. Update- the seller and amazon support were absolutly awful.

> 3 dayThis is a great product. The reasons that I bought another unit from Silicon Power are: 1. Bought their 1 TB version a couple of years ago and it works flawlessly - ran out of room. 2. Bought the 2 TB version this time in hopes of saving more stuph (photographs; RAW and processed mainly). 3. A primary caveat for me is that its power by the USB cable - no external power needed which makes this perfect for traveling and backups for the just in case. 4. Its reasonably priced too. Would definitely buy this product again and from this company. Excellent.

> 3 dayI would liked a longer cable. since my USB port is high on my computer, I had to putt some books to hold device where it is not dangling because the cable is to short! I hope manufacturer corrects this flaw in the design.

> 3 dayThe storage capacity is done well enough; it has the typical nearly 10%-15% of the 2GB occupied by system data or whatnot. The Tech support gets 5 stars because I have yet to need their assistance with how well this works. Data flows quickly and constantly. The portability of this device is amazing. it is the perfect size for travel, and the fact that the connector cable secures perfectly to the casing is a great feature. I never have to worry about damaging the drive or loosing the cable. Speaking of the casing, it in itself is quite a nice feature. lightweight, and it protects the drive fairly well; I have not done much to test the extent of the durability because i do not want to intentionally inflict damage to my drive, however, from just regular everyday usage, the protective casing is a nice and secure feeling which leaves everything working perfectly fine.

07-06-2025Ive had it for about 2 years and, in one sense, its been great. It never froze on me and transfers are relatively quick. I love the shock-absorption protective feature, and that the cable can be tucked into its corners. I also love how it feels to the touch. If not for one set-back, Id give it 5 stars. The product description didnt specify anything that would lead me to anticipate this problem. Im an actress and have some filmed material I deeply care about. I use this disk as a back-up, and it doesnt allow me to store certain films, the lighter of which is only 4.98GB. Now brace for this: the available space is at about 800GB!! According to a techs explanation, its somehow partitioned (if I remember correctly, because it can be used with Mac and PC - for me, this was a desirable feature), which makes it impossible to store anything with more than an X amount of bites, even if waaaaay less than the available space. This, for me, is HIGHLY inconvenient. The only way to work around it, I was told, is to back everything up, reformat it in a way that makes it only useable with one type of computer - either PC or Mac - then put everything back in. If you have no problems with the partitioned functioning or the reformatting, by all means, go for it. Its a great product.
