> 3 dayThe drive arrived on time, the first things noticed are: Unusual USB 3.0 connector and Rugged antishock armor. Im really dissapointed about the drive speed, after search on the internet I found out its a 2TB 5400 rpm drive. thats a difference when transferring data. I tested the drive in 2 different computers with 3.0 USB ports and both data transfer test result was the same 28-30 Mb/s transfer rate as the top rate. On average was 18-20 Mb/s. Then make the same test with a WD My Passport 2TB (WDBY8L0020BBK-NESN) an the transfer rate was 60-61 Mb/s Test Scenario- Transfer 21.5 GB from the C:drive to the External Hard drive using a 3.0 USB port 1 laptop Lenovo T440 Core i5 4 GB RAM 500 GB internal HDD 1 laptop Dell Inspiron 14z 5423 Core i5 4 GB RAM 500 GB internal HDD Havent tested the antishock armor and dont think so to test it. Its looks and feel ok

> 3 dayI have several of these now and they are great. I havent had the first problem out of any of them. I use them for backups, music, movies, and more. I will no doubt get at least one more. It doesnt require an external power supply and works on everything I have tried it on - PC, laptop, Surface Pro 3, TV, Blu-Ray - everything. They are small enough to easily keep one at home for backups (you do back up your computer dont you ??) and one in a remote location (safe deposit box etc.) without taking up a lot of room. I have already recommended it to a couple other people I know and they have not had any problems either. I cant wait until they start making a 3GB or 4GB model.

> 3 dayUsed this to TX files from my satellite DVR so I can use it in the next one. It was quick to format and held all my movies and shows. This is the 2nd external drive for me and it is great.

Another Opinion
> 3 dayI have had this unit for little more than 24 hours so this is very preliminary. I am running on a Mac and surprisingly the read/write speeds were between 125 and 135Mbs using Blackmagic speed test. This is reformatted as HFS+. This is about equal or better than my Transcend 2TB Thunderbolt/USB through the Thunderbolt cable at less than half the price. I will be buying a second drive and returning the Transcend. My main concerns are longevity. Other reviews talk about totally failure which is unacceptable. Total failure after months is horrendous. I have usually found that when a USB drive fails with Mac, you can run disk repair. Most do not repair but they mount so you can get most of your data off. I have had USB drives last months and others last years, bust seldom lost data. I will keep this updated if warranted. For now- its fast and runs cool compared to the Transcend which I have read is one of the fastest Thunderbolt drives; However you can fry an egg on it if your are transferring a couple hundred GB of data.

> 3 dayStill working a few years later and a few years late for this review. I Dont like to review products, but I have time to waste. Better choices out there, but not as reliable.

Greater than one weekWho ships a hard drive with no padded protection?!?!? This arrived in a plastic bag and only had the thin manufacturers box with its plastic insert. Do you guys not know how fragile hard drives are? I know its supposed to be shock proof etc but Id rather know that when I buy a brand new drive it at least has a fighting chance of not being knocked around and going bad before I even use the thing. Amazon always uses cardboard boxes with air pack inserts or at the very least a bubble mailer. This is fragile computer equipment...

> 3 dayI have gone through a lot of hard drives due to the rough nature of my work. But since getting this hard drive it has survived numerous falls on my few different occasions and still works to perfection. If you are on the go a lot or maybe just clumsy from time to time this hard drive is really good pick. The USB to USB cable is also nice and has lasted longer than the traditional cables most hard drives have.
