> 3 dayGreat little hard drive and fast too. Its very light and feels like there is nothing in it. I guess thats how the solid states are. I bought this because my old external hard drive failed and I lost all my photos I had on it (before the cloud) from 1999 to 2015. I am still devistated from the loss. I tried all kinds of recovery software, opened it, attached a new sata cable - and nothing. I feel better using a solid state drive but I am still going to back it all up to the cloud because they say if a SSD fails there is virtually nothing you can do to recover your files.

> 3 dayI wanted to wait to give this review to have a chance to see whether reviews about declining speed and/or latency were true. I am using this as a game drive and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever (once I figured out how to access games stored on it!). It is completely plug-and-play. Speed has definitely not been and issue, nor has latency. I am not experiencing any difference between games loaded on the internal drive vs. this external drive.

07-06-2025Great build, including a great cable which firmly attaches to usb3 sockets. On Mac, good read/write speeds of 530/460 MB/sec respectively, but only while SSD fast cache buffer is free and there is pre-cleared SSD memory available. SSD cards cant write over previously deleted data unless that data has been cleared by a separate pass, at which time the write speed drops to 6 MB/sec while it does that pre-clearing. Once I learned this unusual behavior (of all SSDs Im told) I was very happy with this 1TB unit and have 2 of them.

> 3 daySeemed like a decent drive. Light, relatively solid, pretty fast. I placed it in my ventilated rack where the drive never left or was bumped or damaged in any way. I loaded about 500 G of data on it and it became unrecognizable by my machine in less than 45 days. Tried multiple cables, different machines, and recovery software - but its like the drive just went poof. The hassel of moving that much data around from different sources again.... I dont even want to think about it right now. Just pick something else....

> 3 dayCopying from my laptop USB-C to SSD USB-C connector I seem to be averaging about 30 Mbps... actually slower than using regular portable HDD and USB connections. Very disappointed.

> 3 dayIts been about a year and this has worked out great. I couldnt beat the price it. I work it fairly hard as all my games run from this and it works well. For my purposes, I would recommend it 100%. Very compact, silent and while I havent speed tested it, its fast enough for what I need.
