> 3 dayBought this for my son since he has a great gaming laptop but was running out of space and kept having to uninstall software to install others. It goes with him everywhere now- he has had no issues with it. We got the 1 TB version - it easily connects with the USB cord and does not need any external power for it to run. He has not had any speed/lag issues. He plays games like Halo and Minecraft using it.

> 3 dayI used this External Hard Drive as my Time Machine. It quit after 18 months, at a time I needed it most, of course. Manufacturer was not helpful to recover the data...

04-06-2025This drive just failed and lost all of the data on it. Completely messed up my Mac mini in the process. Trash. Do not buy.

> 3 dayRugged Portable External SSD looks good, but when I had about 300 GB the SDD started to work to write and read very slowly....in that case it is better to use a regular HHD.

> 3 dayThis enclosure worked to its spec. I got a bit less than 1000 MB/s R/W throughput from it. However, it has some weird designs to achieve its smaller size. First, it uses friction to hold down 2280 SSDs, although it has rubber holders for other sizes. Second, its height can barely fits a thin SSD. I cannot fit a SSD with a thin piece of heat spreader into it at all.

> 3 dayI travelled offshore by helicopter for the last 8 years. I have had portable external hard drives get dropped by the people inspecting out luggage on several occasions. Twice I arrived offshore for a long rotation with a hard drive full of games and movies that was now broken. Keep your old mechanical hard drive at home by your main PC or by the television. I bought 2 different SSD external drives a little 256gig drive and this 1TB drive... its fast, durable and gets bumped around a lot. I just slip it in the side pocket of my laptop case and go. Because it has no moving parts unless you smash it open or somehow fry the electronics your data should stay safe. I have about 100 movies and 20 games from my steam library on this drive and everything runs perfectly!

08-06-2025I was badly disappointed my this device. It plain does not work. On two different computers. Not sure why. It might be the device wont work when connected using a USB extension cable. My memory card readers and jump drives work just fine, so Im not sure whats wrong.

> 3 daySo far I have used this for 3 months and no hiccups. Data transfer is super fast and they dont have a bunch of bloatware or files that take up space, however its not a secure drive.
