> 3 dayI travelled offshore by helicopter for the last 8 years. I have had portable external hard drives get dropped by the people inspecting out luggage on several occasions. Twice I arrived offshore for a long rotation with a hard drive full of games and movies that was now broken. Keep your old mechanical hard drive at home by your main PC or by the television. I bought 2 different SSD external drives a little 256gig drive and this 1TB drive... its fast, durable and gets bumped around a lot. I just slip it in the side pocket of my laptop case and go. Because it has no moving parts unless you smash it open or somehow fry the electronics your data should stay safe. I have about 100 movies and 20 games from my steam library on this drive and everything runs perfectly!

Greater than one weekI use this for gaming because my laptop has limited drive space. It works great and my games run fast when playing them off this drive. I am so impressed that I will probably get the 2TB version eventually, and am hoping they come out with 3TB and maybe even 4TB models later on, as games these days keep expanding and eating up a lot of space. This drive is also very portable and rugged too.

> 3 dayUsing Silicon Powers rugged 1Tb external hard drive on Windows 11, USB 3.2 Gen1, with type A included cable. Accessing a Word, PDF, JPEG, any folder etc. is as fast as accessing it on your C drive. No exaggeration with that statement. Im totally impressed. The description says it comes formatted FAT32. Mine came formatted NTSF which is what I would have changed it to had it come FAT32.

> 3 dayI am very displeased with this product! At first I was very pleased, felt durable, and according to the description it could go very fast, but nooooooo. Do not buy this product! Everytime I plugged it into my laptop it would slow it down so much I couldnt even use it for anything else! And OMG WAS IT SLOW! It was literally going at 8gb/s it was horrible! I do not recommend this product, buy something else that is worth your cash! It was so slow I had to return it and buy a Samsung ssd which was actually worth my money and worked quickly, just as advertised! Recommend the Samsung ssd any day, and its the second most cheap 1T SSD that actually works. I will later post some screenshots of how painstakingly slow this thing was going. Have a great day and I hope you save yourself some cash and go buy something else instead.

> 3 dayI used this External Hard Drive as my Time Machine. It quit after 18 months, at a time I needed it most, of course. Manufacturer was not helpful to recover the data...

> 3 dayBasic SSD for backup. Best value I could find to get a TB on the cheap. The metal enclosure seems like it will stand up long term. Paired with a 3.X USB port this thing offers a very capable backup as well as a daily drive.

> 3 dayComes with a c-port and USB3 port cable, which is useful. I backed up my computers 1TB internal drive onto it and it didnt get very hot and was reasonably fast. It seems to be well made.

> 3 dayAn excellent bagdet SSD unit undercutting lots of the competition. It has decent writing and reading speeds
