SimpliSafe Entry Sensor (Pack of 4) - Window and Door Protection - Compatible with The SimpliSafe Home Security System - Latest Gen

Got what I needed quickly prior to a vacation trip.

Customer service: just a canned list of instructions! The battery door is so snug, that it cant come off unless the sensor is essentially glued off the door -- one still struggles with it to open it with a screw driver or something. Poor plasticky design. The bigger issue: then the Base station (the system) just doesnt recognize the sensor after its battery replacement. Calling the customer service is basically a painful reminder that every time I will have to remove the sensor from the list of devices being monitored, and then add it back. Simply ridiculous product. This is my fifth call their customer service on one thing or the other.. Usually the product works okay, but the pain points are too many. This is much more painful than changing a bulb. As if life should just revolve around fixing Simplisafe issues at home!

One real weakness of the system is the limited range of the wireless sensors. If they are around too many corners or downstairs, they tend to go offline frequently. Simplisafe’s claim of a 600 foot range is bogus, and their customer service reaction to every problem is to send you a replacement. They even replaced a perfectly good base station because they couldn’t upload new firmware and thought that was the problem. I’ve worked every angle, and the problem is indeed poor range of the sensors. Never had this problem with my “old school” proprietary alarm system from All Guard.

They dont say anywhere in the description that you have to have the main hub for it. I thought it was an app detection program. No, you need to spend 200.00 more on that. Extremely disappointed. I would not recommend it.
