SINGER 00258 Extra Long Vinyl Tape Measure, 96-Inch

I wanted a longer sewing tape measure for measuring fabric. A 60 tape would have been adequate and measured everything this tape will measure. Anything above the first 60 would need to be added. No need to add when measuring up to 96 with this tape. It takes a few seconds longer to coil this one up. Not a big issue. The tape had a powder residue on it. Probably to keep it from sticking together. At about $3, a decent price. It should last years. Even if the metal ends come off, it will still measure well enough for my needs.

Perfect for sewing and also for woodworking when I need to measure around something to get an accurate measurement.

i got this for when i play bocce with my friend. he always tries to say his ball is closer mine, even when i know its not. well with this I can prove him wrong. i have not used it yet because he wont answer my calls, but i know its going to be good. ill see his sister on Saturday, im going to ask her why he cant pick up the phone when i call. i used the prime on this one.

A simple product that works well. I needed a flexible measuring tape for quick measurements around the house and for body measurements for certain custom designed African clothes. The $2 bucks is well worth it. The ends are terminated with metal so it wont fray apart. Having 96 inches is another plus (some are shorter lengths) and Im totally satisfied. EDIT [02-12-2019]: Okay, so Im back here to add additional commentary to my review a little bit because someone mentioned the FIRST INCH being short (where the metal terminates the tape). I re-checked my measuring tape and the FIRST INCH is OFF (or SHORT) by 1/16 of a inch. Then I went to the LAST INCH inch (where the metal terminates on the other end of the tape by the 96 inch mark) and it is OFF (or OVER) by 1/16 of a inch. So, while, I believe the whole tape should be accurate to scale, its NOT a deal breaker at all for me with such a very small incremental error. Just be aware of the FIRST INCH and the LAST INCH.

I love it. I am a large girl with large boy. I keep it handy just in case I need it. The other day I had to measure my husband ankle to get a brace for him.

I am not a tailor and I am just tired of using a string to measure what I need and remeasure it with a metal tape measure, so I broke down and get a real one. I guess you could spend may a buck or two to get a cheaper tape measure, but for less than $5 you could get a great tape measure of high quality that would last a long time. This tape has metal caps on both ends so no worries if it will go bad. Bright yellow and clear black markings for both inches and centimeters, extremely flexible so it is a great tool to have. This is the tape measure that you would see wrap around some professional tailors.

I didnt have to worry about measuring my drapes with this tape. It is durable and its weight is just perfect for holding down fabric if you needed an extra set of hands. I did not know to buy this tape when I was making draperies for my new apartment. It would have saved me so much time to have an extra long tape. Do yourself a favor! Buy this Singer product. Its good to have an extra-long tape measure around the house. This one is sturdy, easy to read, and just what I was looking for.
