I always wanted to know what my measurements were when I needed to buy some work/dress codes. Most of the stores do not take measurements so I bought this to find out what they were. I also needed to buy a weightlifting belt, this helped me pick out the right size. Works perfectly. Does what it is supposed to do.

This is the full 96 inches. 96 inches of vinyl tape measuring vinyl. Yes, I used the word vinyl twice. I think that is an important point. I cant remember why I bought this, but I did and now I own it. OK, clearly it is an effective product for measuring stuff but what in Gods good name did I buy a Singer 96-Inch Extra Long Vinyl Tape Measure for? For the life of me, I simply cant remember. I know you might not care, but I care. Not like I can just throw money away on things I dont need. I bought a car once and I cant even drive.

One of the other reviews stated that the band in the picture is a metal clip to keep the tape neatly folded. It is not a clip. It is a shiny piece of heavy paper. It looks nice, but it is meant to be discarded. The tape doesnt seem like cloth but it is as flexible as you would expect a cloth tape to be. It isnt stiff like cheaper tapes. It has inches printed on one side, centimeters printed on the other. The fact that it measures up to 96 inches rather than 60 is great considering much of the obese population of the US is pushing a 60 inch waistline now. My own is 64 inches, so the old standard of 60 just doesnt work anymore. I am losing weight and lately have been interested in tracking my progress. Before long I should be able to use a 60 inch tape, but it is nice to have one that will let me start where I am now, not where I would like to be in the future. When I am smaller, the great news is this tape will still work! Having centimeters is a benefit, since many things are more accurately sized in centimeters.

good quality material, will stand up to repeated use over time. Goes above & beyond ~ no really, I didnt think it would be as long as it is, so it surpassed my expectations and has a bonus metric side I may never use.

Great for measuring your fat hips so you can be lazy like me and shop Prime clothing that comes in strange sizes.

It’s a tape measure. Kinda hard to screw up. That said, this one is good. I like the 8’ length, the LARGE dual units of measure and the metal tabs on the ends. Wish it was cloth instead of vinyl. I’d buy it again. Thanks for reading.

It is a nice tape measure made of finer glass reinforced fabric (rather than vinyl) so there is a little risk of it stretching. However as others have noted the metal piece at the one inch end of the tape shortens the tape so that about 3/32 have to be added to every measurement. The SINGER brand used to be a guarantee of quality. It is a shame that is no longer the case.

Exactly what I needed. It is hard to find a tape measure longer than 60 inches in the stores where I live. The tape is flexible and soft without being flimsy. The numbers and markings are bold and easy to read. One side is inches and the other side is centimeters. The only drawback is when you roll it up. I had to put a rubber band around the center.

Very handy to have around. I use this to measure my body before ordering clothes online!

Unlike what other reviewers has said about the first incb being cut off, mine is not. Works well, came fast, and easy to read and use.
