So for 40 or 50 years I have done my soldering on a piece of 1 x 12 board. I saw these mats and thought I would give them a try. What a world of difference. They are easy to use, protect the surface under them, and are super easy to clean. They come in a foil non static pouch and I store mine in it.

I use mine for soldering mostly but have learned to use it for everything small so it doesnt end up lost. The silicone is very high grade. Soft supple and lays flat. Accidentally had the iron fall onto it and wasnt noticed for several minutes - no damage at all.

Great project mat for all kinds of stuff -- soldering, hot glue, other high-heat applications, etc. Also, the built in compartments make sorting components (resistors, etc.) super easy and convenient. Its also made of very thick, sturdy silicone and not the cheap thin stuff other project mats are made of. All in all, I love it.

I used it first to fabricate jumpers to diagnose an automobile electrical system problem involving the brake light switch, and associated wiring.

I cant complain at all... quick shipping, received undamaged... Its a pretty tough little mat, I use it to work on watches...

So far so good. Ive done some soldering directly on it and it seems to be holding up pretty well. I wish they made them larger, but this was the largest I could find.

Liquid solder just beads up . A great addition to my workbench

seems to be good to me. Have only used it once so far. Over all good. Will update more later.

Bought to use for small stained glass window work- these work very well.
