Worked beautifully first day out the box at camp and managed to boil water ~6-8 times, second day igniter no longer sparks and product is completely unusable and depending on the reseller completely ineligible for return or remediation. I never leave reviews, but best I can do is caution others not to make the same mistake and heed the few other reviews that point at the same problem: the igniter will stop working and you will be left with expensive and useless metal.

I have never had a stove that needed to be put together prior to each use as this one does. Also should mention that it is heavier than expected. Finally, IT IS NOT RETURNABLE VIA AMAZON. I called Sotos 800 customer service number to ask for a refund, and they have not returned any communication.

Great little stove but slow boil and uses a lot more fuel than my jetboil. I would estimate nearly twice as much fuel in moderate temperatures.

My friends know their pots of water are in danger if I am near. The 4 pot support attachment of the soto windmaster (versus the typical 3 arms also available) is great for people like me. Less spills. The igniter has worked great and everytime. The wind has never been a problem. I occasionally place it in ridiculous places just to test the wind aspect. Mostly used to boil water, I have employed it to effectively simmer rehdrating mushrooms. I am able to fit it into my snowpeak trek 900 titanium pot set with an 8oz fuel canister. Having to pull off the arms when packing is a bit of a pain, but minor. Feels a little top heavy when I use the smaller 3.5 fuel canisters, so I am inclined to use fuel bottle feet with those. My friends have stoves that pack a little smaller, but they also feel more fragile. All in all, Im happy with this purchase.

Pleasantly surprised with the speed this unit heats water. Compact and durable. Great addition to our backpacking essentials. Used less fuel than expected. Great also in the wind.

Great product, lightweight, very good control on flame, practical built-in lighter. Strong and wind resistant. Highly recommended.

Used for 300 miles in the Sierra this summer. I previously used an Amicus and this is a nice upgrade. I use it with the optional lighter-weight 3-arm folding pot support to save a few grams. I invested in this after reading the Guthook review claiming it got the most burn time in windy conditions and it was lighter than the Amicus IIRC. It worked like a champ, my only complaint is that EVERY piezo I have (this, Amicus, Pocket Rocket, Jetboils...) inevitable gets flaky especially at high altitude. Consequently I now always carry a mini lighter as a backup and not infrequently have to use it. This is a drag in windy conditions. I would pay significantly more for a bullet-proof piezo lighting element, SOTO... as would many... My go-to stove for the forseeable future.
