I used this at my house and was only able to trace 2 of my 5 coax outlets. On 3 of them it didnt work at all. Perhaps this is because theres a splitter or something in the wall, but either way I was very disappointed that it didnt work. Fortunately, I just played a guessing game and correctly figured out which wires went to which of those 3 outlets, but that was with no help from this tester. Waste of money to me. Update: I originally gave this product one star, but Im now changing it to 3 stars. I talked to a Verizon tech, and he said these types of testers wont work if theres a splitter involved. I cant confirm it, but my guess is that there is a splitter in my walls somewhere. I wont punish this product with a one star review if its not the products fault. Im not giving it 5 stars either. In the end, it didnt serve my purpose, and Im out twenty-eight bucks. I could send it back, but its more trouble than its worth, so Ill just keep it for a day in the future. The one coax outlet that did work worked very well, so I guess its not all bad.

I moved into a house with cable everywhere and cable outlets everywhere thanks to several different satellite systems over the years. This device made it so easy and efficient to identify outlets and match it to the cable in the basement where they all end up. You can install all 4 plugs on 4 different outlets at the same time. Then go plug the device into different cables and if youve matched any of them, it will light up with the corresponding color of the plug you used. That means 4x less times going up and down the stairs!

Quality tool that allowed me to identify coax cabling in a new house. Installers did not label coax so I was able to id which cables went to which outlets. Found a fault in one of the cables, it was not terminated properly. Worth the price even for a one time (hopefully) use.

This mapper saves a lot of time when troubleshooting or doing installations. I lost one of the remotes tho, where can I purchase one? Need the red remote

Too worked well while it worked. Last about a month of daily use before the testers pins no longer made contact with the cable pin

Whoever decided to use LR44 batteries for a commercial product failed engineering design for whatever reason. It uses 4 tiny LR44 batteries instead of a single AAA battery that is widely available, unbelievable.

Product works great. Saves time from running room to room checking of connection. Especially if you have more that one coax connection to make.

Time saver if you are dealing with old coax or multiple coax instalations. Well made, but you have to keep the two parts together in your tool kit.
