> 3 dayIts a very regular SSD drive. The performance of the drive is better than a mechanical drive but not fast enough. Its reading speed can reach up to 240MB/s and average writing speed is about 50MB/s according to my tests. The storage space is just as described, no bad sectors were found. I suggest buyers to spend extra more dollars to buy a named brand SSD drive.

Greater than one weekSP 1tb is great for online gaming and iv been use using it for gaming offline and online gaming and a bit of video editing and its working great. the storage space can fit a hand full of movie and a hand full of AAA games will still being able you to play music in the background and large file transfer. so id recommend the SP 1tb SSD to gamers streamers and even for work with large file transfer work.

> 3 dayThis has made my old Desktop viable as a Retro Gaming Console. My old HDD would take 10 minutes to launch windows and get everything read, then there were some games it just couldnt run because the Disk would be at 100% capacity. This SSD launches windows and has it ready in under 3 minutes, and can run games I couldnt play before. Im pretty sure it would be faster if my 2008 Asus Motherboard werent so archaic.

> 3 dayOne was to upgrade an older MacBook Pro, paired with a memory upgrade. Simple clone and standard install went without problems. Great performance boost for an older machine. The second was for a Windows 10 hand-me-down kids game machine that had a very slow bulk storage drive as the system disk. This was a bit trickier install. I had to do some fiddling to shrink the original drive, and used Macrium Reflect to clone the EFI, System Restore, and main partitions, then remapped the old drive for video and photo storage, along with some large game files. While it took longer than expected (not helped by Windows upgrading - twice - in the middle of the process) and had a few speed bumps along the way I finally prevailed. The system boots much (4-5X) faster, and the UI is pretty snappy (for Win10 on an older, but premium in its day, computer).

> 3 dayThis was one of the best values Ive found for SSDs in the 1TB range. Most others still run well over $100 for 1TB of storage (at the time of this review in Dec 2019). Silicon Power does provide free software for download to check and monitor the health (and check the SMART stats) of their SSD drives - SP Toolbox. I would recommend downloading the free utility from SPs website for occasionally checking and ensuring your drive is in good health. From a transfer rate perspective, this SSD works as advertised, and performs as well as a Crucial MX SSD 3D NAND that I also have installed in the same desktop system. SSDs are best for general purpose use - primarily as boot drives for OS and apps, especially on laptops. The OS will boot much, much faster from a SSD compared to a mechanical HDD, and the SSD will consume a lot less power than a mechanical HDD. Apps also launch in a fraction of the time on a SSD. The only drawback with a SSD is its overall shelf life - it has a limited number of writes, which not a huge factor if youre only using the drive for booting the OS and running apps. For media storage, backups, databases, and large files, mechanical HDDs are still the way to go, and theyre still a lot less expensive than a SSD. Over time, if you write or delete a lot of data from a SSD drive, performance will begin to deteriorate. Most however will not encounter much in the way of performance degradation, even after several years of drive use. Either way, SSD is best for read operations, and will vastly outperform a mechanical HDD for reading data, hence the much faster boot and app launch times. They are well worth it for the performance boost...time is money. Silicon Power seems to be making quality drives that work, but time will tell. If it fails or clunks out early, Ill be back here to modify my review. Otherwise, no complaints, 5 stars.

> 3 dayI bought this drive around Christmas time at $90 and thought that was an insanely good deal, now I see its $2 less than when I bought it. I have bought a few SP SSDs and they never disappoint. I bought this drive to replace the internal drive in my laptop but I dont need it for that anymore so I ended up getting an external case for it and Im using it as external storage to back up data from a few different devices in my home. Ive never had any issues with any of my SP drives, including this 1. I will continue to buy more as my storage needs require.

> 3 dayDrives arrived next day which was great as i needed the extra space for raw videos needing editing before going on YouTube, these drives have a high transfer rate and so far have not been any issues with them.

> 3 dayI put the SSD into my Xbox 360. The drive fits into the plastic case that then attaches to the side of the console. I installed a reset glitch hack onto this console a while back. So now I have more storage and everything loads very fast. Makes absolutely no noise. The disc drives on these old consoles are going bad more and more over time so Im happy that I can backup my game discs onto the SSD. I just wanted to post this review for anybody wondering if the SSD will work in an RGH. It does. You just put it in and go to the dashboard and hit format. My console is a 2009 jasper. You dont really need an SSD for the 360 but the price was good. Photo is the drive showing up on aurora dashboard. If you dont have an RGH/JTAG you need to use the Microsoft brand drives.
