> 3 dayWay bay in 1995 my high school art teacher thought I might do well with block printing. 20+ years later Im finally figuring out where he was going. This kit is exactly what I needed to give myself a refresh on block printing without spending too much money. In my judgement youre saving about ten or twenty dollars with this kit, and you can use that money to go buy yourself some print paper because paper is the only thing this kit is missing.

> 3 dayI was so disappointed to find that this does not include all the blades shown. I’m too late to return it, and it is not what I needed. Be prepared for a single blade, if you order this.

> 3 dayNot a bad starter set, I didnt have my original expectations to high to begin with, so that helped. the lino cut tools are kind of low quality, Ill see how they do after sharpening. Good set to learn techniques and practice before you get to the professional stuff.

> 3 dayGreat for beginners. My only complain is that after the first time I used them, the next day the tips were completely rusted.

> 3 dayI bought this kit for my printmaking class. I loved this kit because it included all the basic necessities for making relief prints. The reason for giving a 4 star review is that the carving tool is a bit obnoxious. Its great that I have one carving tool that I can switch out the different nibs. It saves a lot of space, great compact idea. But, once you get the nib in its really hard to get out. I unscrewed it and tried jiggling it out, hell I used pliers risking damaging the tool and it wouldnt budge. Not sure why it is so finicky. Its very dangerous. I nearly cut myself trying to get the tools out.

> 3 dayIt was just what I ordered and have used before except this kit had the metal inking plate in the box and I am pleased to have it. I had not had one before and I really like it for getting the ink evenly on the brayer without the waste.

> 3 dayI bought this to make block prints for my Patreon members. I didnt choose the best paper for the job, so thats where most of my consistency issues are arising I think. I also purchased some extra rubber carving blocks and have only used those so far, so I cant comment on the blocks provided in the kit yet. Ill be trying out the linoleum soon when Ive decided on a design worthy of it. I noticed several reviewers complaining about the carving tool getting jammed - I have not had that issue. I think theyre loading their tips incorrectly. There are two metal pieces inside the housing that hold the tips by compressing the curved end in between them, you need to place the tip in between those two pieces and tighten it, and youre good to go. Its not the most comfy carving tool but it works fine and the built in storage is nice. My only complaint is mainly with the brayer. It doesnt roll super freely, being the snap in style theres a little resistance occasionally, so it sometimes will slide through the ink instead of rolling through it and sometimes it takes extra rolls to get the right consistency. The bench hook is metal and quite nice quality, though I wish it was white or tan instead of black. But it doesnt really matter because you can see the ink texture so black on black is not a real issue. All in all a great starter kit to build off of, certainly worth the $50. I say buy it, but be ready to buy more stuff if you enjoy the process. Im going to upgrade my brayer and get a baren and some fabric ink to round out my kit. When my carving tips get too dull Ill upgrade that tool, too. Happy printing!
