Stanbroil Universal 8-Inch Gas Valve Fireplace Key, Fits 1/4 and 5/16 Turn Ball Valve, Polished Chrome

The Stanbroil Universal 3 in length gas valve key successfully turned off the gas valve to my fireplace. It is a die-cast constructed key made with a durable aluminum alloy metal material that fits 1/4 and 5/16 size gas valves. I ordered the polished chrome finish.

We have a gas valve that is deep in the wall in a hidden compartment. Lowes and Home Depot did not have Long valve keys like this. This is exactly what we needed.

I bought 2 different ones at the same time. I really preferred this one over the Amazons choice chrome one. Seemed like better fit quality key for just a little more money.

This gas key fits the valve stem and operates it, but it doesnt fit very tightly at all. My other gas keys are a much better fit. This might be a consequence of the universal design which aims to fit both 1/4 and 5/16 valves. You may want to avoid the floppy fit by buying a valve key thats sized exactly for your valve.

This worked perfectly with the hose so far and it was scraping the wood or the paint now it works perfectly no struggles

Its a good value, kind of flimsy but strong enough to last at least a while if not abused. Mine is already slightly bend but works.
