Greater than one weekStorytime: I was over at a buddys house for the weekend as he lives up north a ways from us. Were both big gamers so I brought along my pc and headset. We left to go disc golfing and came back to find my turtle beach stealth 450 in disrepair. What happened to them... we may never know. At the time I was upset because they were expensive when I bought them. So now I was in a mad scramble to find a pair of headphones. After looking at headphones for what seemed like 12 hours I finally settled on these. It had good reviews and the price was way more affordable than most wireless surround sound headphones. So I thought I would take the risk. Boy am I glad I did. Review Time: So this horrible tragic death of my turtle beaches turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I am so fanboying over this headset. It blows my old 450s away in every way. First take away, The freaking comfort!!! The headset is somehow light but not cheap. The headband is sturdy and the earmuff part (dont know the technical work) is sturdy. The ski-mask headband adjust is amazing. No pressure on top of the head. I seriously forget that I am wearing the headset. The second take away, The sound quality is amazing. The bass is incredible. I listen to a lot of music so its nice to have that as I listen to a lot of blues. The last thing I want to rave about is the battery life. As I unboxed my headset with great anticipation, my glee was drastically disrupted as i hit the power but and the power button flashed red. The headset was low battery. Well, i was too excited so i hooked it up to my computer anyways. I sat down and worked a full 8 hours and the headset still hadnt died. Thats impressive that it was low battery and still provided me with 8 hours of uninterupted melancholic blues. Thank you SteelSeries for this amazing headset. I am so impressed with this headset. I will make sure to leave a review on my twitch channel and youtube. Job well done! Truly, KingOfTheSticks93

Greater than one weekI was in the market looking for a new gaming headset that wasnt going to break the bank. I was able to snag these for around low 100s and pulled the trigger on them! I have heard many great things about this headset, but I wanted to really try them for myself and see if I liked them. After a year of using these bad boys, I can definitely say it was worth all $100! I think the sound quality is good enough, especially for the price of $100. My favorite thing about this headset is the simple/easy bluetooth connection. I leave the dongle connected to my PC and anytime I want to use my headset I just turn them on and theyre prepared to go! The headset is built pretty nicely, very sturdy & strong build. The ear cushion is pretty cozy, I have definitely worn this headset for 4 hours straight gaming. Absolutely no complaints, its really well-built and nice! The only issue I would have with this headset is that sometimes it loses connection on initial set up & the battery life is aite... I use this headset pretty often so I can see why the battery life has been diminished. I charge mine after every use because I like the portability aspect of it being wireless. If this is a deal breaker for you, the Arctic 7 pros comes with an additional battery for you to swap while the other one is charging. Only regret I have on this headset is that I didnt wait long enough to get the white ones :(. Other than that! Absolutely A1 headset for gaming!

> 3 dayI tried many wireless headphones from other brands before I decided to stay with this one, including some Sennheisers and Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2. Im glad that I bought this headset. The material for the ear cushions is a soft, breathable fabric, not the pleather that is typical of so many other products. This means that your ears will avoid temperature extremes much better than they would with that material. The fabric also allows the cushions to more successfully mold to your head and create (in my experience) less pressure. The sound the Arctis 7 delivers meets my expectations. Im coming off of owning a set of Audio Technica studio monitor headphones so I definitely expected something more true to sound than what you typically see in a gaming headset, which often have overbearing bass boosting. These sound great, honestly. The bass hits when it should and you dont lose your mids or highs in the process. Unfortunately I cant speak to the quality of the microphone as I use a standing mic. The headband was something that I was skeptical of at first, being that I had only ever had traditional padded headset bands in the past. I think this might honestly be a better solution. It doesnt cause the pressure you can feel from a traditional band so you can wear it for hours and hours on end without any discomfort. The battery life isnt something that Ive measured directly, but I can go a full days use (heavy use) on a single charge at the very least and the charge time seems to be very fast so it really isnt an issue. The only negative I can leverage against the headset is something that Im not even entirely sure is the fault of the headset. I had an issue of it not putting out any sound after I tried to use it after putting my pc to sleep and then waking it. Power cycling the headset didnt fix it and changing settings in the SteelSeries software didnt fix it. Id have to either restart my pc or unplug the receiver and plug it back in. Very annoying though. All in all, I feel like I can safely recommend this headset to someone wanting a good pair of wireless headphones for home use.

06-06-2025I’ve had them a year and a half now, and for the most part they’ve been great. They’re comfy, the band is fantastic and doesn’t give me headaches, the charge lasts long and when I do need to plug in the cord is long. Great range, I can go into the kitchen and people can still hear me (floor down and halfway across the house). mic is retractable and I haven’t had complaints of mic clarity. My only complaint - six months in they started shutting themself off :| no reason, battery will be fine, I’ll be watching a video or playing a game and out of nowhere I’ll hear the powering down sound and they’ll shut down. Irl turn them back on and they’ll be normal, but it’s a bit annoying when you’re in voice chat and in a game and your headphones shut off and you have to take a hand away to turn them back on.

> 3 dayComparing to the Hyperx cloud 2 (which i paid the same amount for) these are not as comfortable and do not have equivalent sound quality. If this headset were wired it would be around $60-$70 or so. So yeah you are paying for wireless, but nothing really amazing in terms of overall quality. Sound quality 7/10 If youre trying to listen to music it seems you have to leave the EQ untouched, otherwise your bass is going to be too loud and cause a very noticeable, very bothersome static/ vibrating noise. If youre looking to play games it depends on what you play. Things like car engines/ jet planes should be very loud, with deep bass for immersion and its the same issue as with music- this headset doesnt produce a ton of bass without making bad vibes. I recommend leaving the EQ Flat- with no bass boost. It seems that is the only way I can turn the headset up as loud as it can go and not have noticeable static/ vibrations. However, once youve found what works best for you the sound is pretty clear, and once you get used to the overall sound it does has enough depth to satisfy your ears. Comfortability is 8/10 I can wear it for hours and it never becomes noticeably uncomfortable/ painful, only after many many hours is it a little bothersome, but really just taking the headset off for 5 minutes is more than enough, really I cant think of anything I can do all day without being uncomfortable, so yeah they are fine, but still not nearly as comfortable as my Hyperx Cloud 2. (They have leather ear cups and headband, definitely nicer than the materials used on the Arctis 7) It isnt a bad headset overall, but lacks anything which makes it very good, other than being wireless. I would recommend it if you want less immersion than a wired headset of the same price- but with the freedom of Bluetooth.

> 3 dayWireless headsets are hard to find satisfying for me, but Ive heard lots of great things about the Arctis series. I decided to give it a shot September 2020. The sound quality isnt all that praiseworthy. Handles treble great at lower volumes, bass is pretty lackluster all around. Im used to Sennheiser headsets because I dont like to compromise sound quality all that often, but I wanted something a little friendlier for streaming and gaming in general so I was okay with the drop in quality. The mixer feature is really convenient and probably my favorite feature of the whole headset. It allows you to balance two different audio feeds straight from your headset which, if managed properly, is incredible for low budget streaming purposes. It is, however, very unconventional if you want to lay down and chat as the dials often get caught so youll often find your headset muted if youre not careful enough. Retractable mic is mighty convenient as the quality of it is poor. Definitely gives your voice that VoIP effect. Again, not bad if youre streaming/need a multi mic set up for whatever reason. Comes with a mute button for convenience. Comfort is by far the best experience Ive had for a wireless headset, compared to Astros or Turtle Beaches, but is still rather uncomfortable. I upgraded to (~$15, 3rd party) pleather ear covers which felt essential because filth easily clings to the default cloth kind. It has an adjustable strap on top for tightness, but I found that after prolonged use, no adjusting could save me from the ear fatigue. If I didnt rest my ears by using my speakers, it would lead to headaches. The most frustrating part of this mediocre experience has been that after only 9 months, the headset has decided to stop functioning wirelessly, defeating the entire purpose of the purchase for me. The headset never leaves my desk except for the occasional tv binging session. It showed signs of stopping, such as turning off randomly by itself despite having active audio feeds. Then it stopped holding charge altogether. The take away from this lengthy review is DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS SELLER. Steelseries products have a warranty for 1 year IF YOU PURCHASE FROM AN AUTHORIZED VENDOR. I tried contacting them thinking I would be covered because I had the invoice for my Steelseries product and followed their steps to the tee. Unfortunately, since I purchased from this vendor, who is impossible to get in contact with, Im stuck with a faulty product that could have otherwise been fixed. Apparently, this is a fairly common issue for these headsets to have (thus the year warranty). Its not the worst product, but its not worth purchasing from unauthorized vendors such as this one.

> 3 dayI was initially deterred by a couple of the negative reviews about the Arctis 7 headphones, but decided to take the risk and try them out. I have had mine now for about half a month and absolutely love them! Pros: - Very comfortable. I can wear these for 6+ hours at a time, through work and games, without issue. - Good battery life - Granular surround and equalizer configuration options using SteelSeries Engine - There is a dial on the back right earcup that allows you to change the volume balance of a voice chat (e.g. Discord) and the rest of your computers audio output. I love this feature and use it a lot in situations such as when Im playing a multiplayer game and need to hear the voice chat better or vice versa. - Great sound. I own a pair of AirPods Pro and Bose QuietComforts and find that the sound from the Arctis holds up well against those. Im no audiophile but can appreciate a good soundstage and balance. Cons: - The mic extension feels flimsy and Im worried Ill accidentally break it if I tug on it too hard. I definitely try to be extra careful handling that. - Like some other reviews mention, the volume dials are easy to accidentally move if you are putting the headphones on or taking them off. - Like most wireless headsets, the mic isnt going to be absolutely stunning, and Ive had a couple of people comment on my loss of voice quality since switching from a wired headset. This isnt a huge deal by any means, but Id suggest pairing these with a more serious condenser mic if you care about that sort of thing. Overall, I love the freedom afforded to me by wireless headphones, and the Arctis 7 more than satisfy my wants for a gaming headset.

> 3 dayI use this for cubicle conference calls and listening to music. No game interaction to comment on. Works great, love the red light on the mic when you mute it. Sound quality is awesome, former colleague turned me on to SteelSeries years ago as we used them for music and conference calls at our SEM tools, but those were wired. I can now take this headset and my laptop into our lab and hold troubleshooting calls with vendors and have both hands to do my tasks. I know others like Bluetooth ear buds, but I purchased these primarily for same thing a gamer needs, good sound and microphone. I havent used them in the cleanroom yet to comment on background noise, which is substantial in a fab environment. I had them on nearly all day at my cubicle and they never got uncomfortable or too warm like some of the leather ear cups can. I like SteelSeries microphones and how this one pushes into the headset. Actually that is one of my favorite features. The fit for me was great out of the box, I have a fairly large noggin, so no adjustment was needed. I also like how the size adjust is the band and not slip style as is typical of most headphones. So it has less parts to end up compromised long term. The headset I replaced, a on ear Jabra, failed due to the size adjust feature that took out the right speaker wire. This is a better design for long term wear. The Jabra set lasted me about 5 years. The only con for me is that Id like more friction on the volume and chat level dials like aviation stuff. I got about 50 away outside before the sound started cutting and having issues when testing tje wireless last night. I get even less trying to wander around at work, but wire free at the cube, even during conference calls, is a really nice feature when looking for bits. These are rated as PC Gamer product of the year, they earned it. SteelSeries speakers dont have the marketing of the nose in the air brands do, but they sure nail the sound quality and beat those price points. Very impressed. Im a 50 y/o engineer, so these will see much more conference time than gaming, but still a very well executed headset. Im more impressed than expected, and I tend to expect a lot at this price point.

> 3 dayMy SteelSeries Arctis 7 died way too quickly for a $100+ headset. I purchased a set in October 2019, and they broke during June 2021. When they broke, I heard rattling in the left earpiece and no sound from the right. The U.S. warranty expires after a year so I had no luck with customer service reps. Its a fine headset while it works, but clearly the quality is not worth the price tag. The audio output is fine for general usage. Now I saw in other reviews that there may be distortion. Im no audiophile, but I couldnt notice any issues while watching movies or playing games. The mic isnt great, but I really only had issues with it picking up some background noise. Most VoIP services will cut out that noise that the mic picks up anyway. A very convenient feature is that the mute toggle is a well placed button on the left earpiece. Speaking of buttons, the On/Off button needs more documentation as it must do something more than just turn the headset on or off. Sometimes if you dont hold the button long enough to turn it off, I think the headset would go into some sort of sleep mode - I dont know. I never could figure out a consistent way to turn it off after that - I would then keep pressing the button until the light disappeared. It was really strange and quite frustrating if this happened while you wanted to listen to something. The headset also has a physical volume control wheel and Chat/Game audio volume control (cannot speak to how that works). The main volume control wheel is fine, but I noticed after a couple months that it was already loose in its fittings. By far my biggest issue with the headset was the comfort. Wow, its bad. Instead of an adjustable earpiece that retracts into the headband, they use a Velcro strap that is supposed to sit atop your head. My head is fairly thin so the headband would fall in front of my eyes if I moved my head too much. It just could never be tight due to this terrible design choice. The final issue must be the design of the connection from earpiece to the band. My headset broke due to normal use and it must have been from how fragile the wiring and connectors are at least in the left earpiece. As you put on and take off the headset, the earpieces will wobble. So I guess after a year and a half of use, this internal connector for the left earpiece must have snapped which leads to stressed wiring which leads to no sound. I had this headset for a year and a half, and as I stated earlier, I did try my luck with seeing what SteelSeries would do after the warranty expired. They took 2 days to respond to the ticket which felt reasonable, but after I immediately replied back to their email, it took another week and a half and multiple follow-up emails to hear back from them. Just dealing with this ticket was irritating.

> 3 dayI was a bit hesitant to spend the money on these as in my experience a lot of gaming headsets are over priced and low quality hardware/software. I really like the software has so many options to tune your sound and create different profiles which I used for testing what worked best for each use (Gaming, Cinema, Music and chat). The quality is great as far as im concerned, even though I was hesitant that Ive seen some pictures of broken parts but after owning these for a few months, Im starting to think it is the user that is mistreating the headphones. I dont treat them like glass but I definitely dont throw mine around in anger or carelessness, mine are on my head or hanging from a stand when not in use. All in all I wouldnt hesitate recommending these to friends and there are so many options out there id say this is definitely worth the money and up there with higher priced headphones. Now for downsides of what ive found so far. There is no documentation on recommended tips for fine tuning your headset, it would be nice to have an explanation of how the features in the software benefit certain sound. For example when gaming in Warzone it is nice to hear footsteps but not have it so loud that when youre in a car or gunfight you cant hear your team mates cause the chat is so low. It took some testing to get this ironed out. There needs to be better documentation on how to optimally configure your headset on different platforms whether it is PC or a consol. Secondly Ive noticed my battery life isnt measure correctly in the app, although I havent tried to uninstall/reinstall or much troubleshooting, It is something Ive seen others mentioned. I have a feeling I could fix it, just havent put time to it but thought it was worth mentioning. (Battery life is great btw)
