> 3 dayI came from the wired world and have 5-6 well-regarded headsets. But as I was playing more games, I was getting annoyed at the wires so I decided to make the plunge. After a ton of research (and black friday pricing), I purchased these headphones with low expectations. I was wrong. Im not sure if its because of the lack of wires, or because the headphones are actually that great, but THESE HEADPHONES ARE GREAT. First, the basics are solid. The sound is definitely NOT top-tier, but honestly just for daily music, gaming, and YouTube, it is great enough that it really doesnt bother me at all. I have other headphones that do sound better but honestly, these are so great that I have not once even LOOKED at them. Yes, audiophiles can hate me, but whatever. My one caveat though is to try not to play music insanely loud in these, as the quality seems to not be as high once you get past the i want to feel like Im hugging a speaker at a concert volume level, and the highs seem to be a bit shrill and painful. Second, the functionality is incredible. As a person who uses Discord, having the functionality to balance Game sounds & Chat sounds with a dial is just... inspired. All the core functionality is easily accessible. The ONE downside of this is that theyre placed in a location that is easy to accidentally trigger when youre just putting on / taking off your headphones, meaning your volume levels may be changed by accident. I do this, unfortunately, fairly often. Third, wireless. Ive judged you wrongly. Ill never go back. The freedom I felt when I went to another room to get a glass of water while still chatting was surreal (though, admittedly kind of stupid in hindsight). Quality never dropped off, sound seems just as fast, and taking on/off my headphones isnt annoying anymore. The one downside is that the charging cable and port has typical charging cable and port issues, so I wish there were a wireless charging option - that would blow my mind. In summary, get it. Its a fantastic all-rounder with some issues, but overall for me outweighs any of my wired headphones Ive ever owned in 95% of situations.

> 3 dayI bought this headphones after long research on the net. Im not quite an audiophile but been using lots of headphones over the years, mainly for music. This was my first set for gaming, and i was aiming for the comfort and the sound quality of course. Ill be describing each aspect separately: Sound: Right out the box, i must say i was worried: these not sounded like i expected (considering what i paid). I had to play a little while with the software and the presets to get them to a sound quality i merely liked. But what really did the job was actually, time. After some burn-in they really started to bring some power over the mids and bass. Now Im using the regular preset and quite satisfied with the quality (considering these are for gaming mainly). You get a good sense of spacing and clarity of whats going on in-game, especially at regular volumes. One point I havent found good use to it yet is the DTS X v2.0 Surround: For me it was kind of messy the way it digitally distorted sound to make it more global, so after trying it for a few days, i decided to turn it off and havent looked back since. As a last comment, this headset sounds well locked from outside noises, but not even near passive noise cancelation levels. It should do more than ok in a quiet enviroment or a small room, but in bigger places youre gonna be in need of raising the volume too high, which isnt a good thing at all. Comfort: Probably the best thing about this set is how comfortable they are. They really feel all around well constructed, and havent felt any discomfort in my ears after several hours of use, something i was really aiming for. Microphone: Maybe the lowest point in this set is the microphone. Dont get me wrong, it isnt a bad microphone at all, it sounds clear and feels ok, but you would probably expect more for the money youre paying, in terms of the crystal clear quality theyre offering. So, wrapping up, this is good headset overall: good sound, great quality and design, ok microphone. It should totally fill your expectations in the gaming area (it did for me, at least), but if you want audiophile quality sound for music, editing and other stuff beside of gaming, maybe you should look somewhere else. UPDATE: After 3 weeks of using this set, i began to have some trouble with the signal: sudden interference with the sound and some static crackling. Even unpairing would happen for around 5 seconds. Did all the troubleshooting, contacted the TS and the conclusion was that i got a defective transmitter. Solution to that? Buy a new one! Not a single solution given by Steelseries, not even a discount on a new pair. Luckily the support from Amazon was flawless and they responded for it, for what im grateful. Consider this before buying from this brand, i wont be doing so in the future thats for sure.

> 3 dayok so. This is my 1st review on a product so dont expect pro level stuff. I bought this headset awhile back when my corsair headphones broke. (bass faded out and i was getting tired of hearing a cracking sound from the item. After receiving the headset in the mail I was surprised by simplify box decoration of it. After getting all the components out of the box it toke me about 10 mins of setting up and reading the instruction book and light installs of the software to the headphones. After all that the headphones works like a dream. Tho, The only down side i could even come close to is this. Charing the headset is a bit a of issue. i understand that its wireless and that means it will need a battery within it. But the simple Red for near dead, Yellow for half way & Green for good to go kind of (in my own opinion ) should be replaced with a number percent. telling you and showing you how much you have. All and All, good headset work your money

> 3 dayI really like this headset. I wear it for 10+ hours a day and it stays super comfy. The sound quality is great and I love the game/voice dial, its super useful. Plus the wireless is perfect, it has great range (about 40-50 ft) and they arent too heavy. However, the mic audio could be a tad better, according to people listening. Its not a deal-breaker though; the mic input audio is still miles ahead of airpods and other built-in mics, and only a couple steps behind a standalone mic, like the Blue Yeti. The biggest drawback is the confusing battery indicator. Its got three levels -red, yellow, green- but how much time is left on each of the levels is always inconsistent. Could be hours or minutes left on yellow, even if they were green a second ago. You can wear and use them while theyre charging, but you hear a faint buzzing noise that gets pretty annoying. Also, if the battery is red (bad, apparently) and then I charge them for 5 minutes, theyll turn green again even though there is no way theyre even close to that level of charge. Theres even more battery nuances than that, but those are the biggest issues. Overall, I think the utility of the headphones outweighs the cons, so Im happy with my purchase.

> 3 dayFirst of all, I had to send my unit back because 1) the stock cord never charged the headset (I had to charge with another a micro usb cord). 2) The battery indicator in the application never worked. With that said, I did like the Arctis 7. Sometimes I wish I still had it and it just worked. I play a game that takes forever to get into an online session or I have a long wait if I host an activity. Walking to the bathroom or kitchen and hearing what is going on in the game was very useful as I could head back when the music or atmosphere changes and Im in a lobby. That is about as much usefulness as I lost. It took about 2 weeks for me to really get the hang of the headphones. It was heavier than what it replaced and so my neck and head got fatigued after a few hour-long sessions. The DTS:X v2 I didnt find that much of a difference between the Windows Sonic for headphones. It sounded fine, but I wasnt wowed, especially compared to a pair of $13 gaming 7.1 usb headphones (TT-EP006). So here are the details. Comfort: Heavier because of wireless battery, but eventually you will get used to it. Fit: The clamping force wasnt enough, I move my head up too fast or look left or right, they dislodge a bit. Sound: To paraphrase Zeos: If a your headphones are made by the same company that made your keyboard, the sound is crap Gaming: It has nice features for chat/sound mix, never noticed any lag. Features: Wireless range was nice and auto-shutoff worked well. Battery: Battery life kind of sucked and battery indicator and low battery warning system is terrible.

> 3 dayUpdate: I barely use these things, and they broke. The headphones hung in a desk cabinet and were forgotten about for a good 4-5 months because I hate dealing with the new app. I just picked them up and the left ear has no sound. If I turn the left earpiece I get crackle and low sound. Mic doesnt work either. The Volume slider works, but theres a crackle/hiss when the wheel is turned. While not in use, these managed to get a wire loose or something. lol. The new App is also junk..with the old app, the sound would improve a good deal once I opened the app. I didnt mind the trouble of opening each time I used the headphones. Now with the new GG app, I have to fight with it just to recognize my headset every time. Sometimes I have to restart, other times Ive had to uninstall and then reinstall to get my headphones detected. GG? Talk about an ambitious name fail... Used to love their mice and controllers, so I got their headphones. Now, you couldnt pay me to get anything Steel Series again. Just another company that got successful and then switched to cheap goods for profit. Im just tossing these...dont even care if theres a warranty or not. That GG app really sucks. Ive been using the earbuds I use with my phone on my PC instead. The mic isnt nearly as good, but they work and I dont need to spin in a chair 27 times on a full moon in order to get them to connect and work like I do with these headphones. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. ***************************************** I’ve been using these for about a month. Prior to this I’ve only had in-ear buds for as long as memory serves. Pros + Battery Life +Above average sound. Good for games and movies, slightly above average for music. The surround works for me without a problem. +Great Range, minor blips but only in areas where disruption was expected. +Long battery life, charge indicators, recharges pretty quickly Meh +Mic may require sampling rate adjustment to DVD quality, then works great. - Comfort is tolerable…barely at times. If I was using these for marathon sessions I would have kept looking. Cons - Needs software to really shine. Not just surround, the quality jumps when I open the program. - I would rate volume as being 7/10. Maxed out, volume is totally tolerable unlike just about all of my other headphones. - Minimal instructions don’t cover much. - Volume rockers aren’t super loose to me, but I promise you’re going to touch them each and every time you touch the headphones, so they could benefit from being significantly stiffer. - Mic could be a little longer, an extra inch at max though. For the most part I’m happy and the only thing that will have me considering a replacement is a comparatively priced pair that also has Bluetooth capabilities. Having to use the wire when on my phone is probably my biggest complaint. I knew that going in so I won’t deduct for it. I was completely underwhelmed by the instructions. Basic features and that’s it. Being that these were my first “gaming headset” I was hoping a little bit more would be covered. I can do research, but I shouldn’t have to. The audio is better than 90% of what I have used…mostly mid-end Bluetooth stereo headphones or wired headphones, so I can’t compare it against other gaming headsets…but I’m happy with them. Nothing gets tinny or washes out. Bass is deep without rattling my fillings. The volume could definitely be louder. They work great in a quiet house/office, but quiet movies in a loud environment would be very frustrating. If you’ve got issues with hearing, I wouldn’t recommend these…there has to be louder sets out there. There is no possible way I would rely on these for a plane ride. At low volume, I can hear the dog barking next door. He isnt that loud, so Id give isolation a 4/10. The mic works great, but the default quality is CD and sounds terrible. Going to sounds>heaphones properties>advanced and changing the sampling rate to 48000 hz / DVD quality in Win10 fixed that. Quality after that adjustment is crystal clear and at a regular volume. Still, the little mic wand could be longer so that it could be better adjusted…it hangs near the corner of my mouth which could affect quality depending on how you speak. The range is great. These headphones have a slightly larger range than my default Bluetooth headsets…sometimes I get a little sound blip or brief static when going between rooms, but its gone before I can react. The battery life is as advertised. Lasts me a few days no problem, recharges quickly and there is a charging indicator on the mic. Timeout can be customized which is great for battery life. Comfort is tolerable. This might be just my preference for in-ear headphones…but other over the ear headphones are generally uncomfortable to me. These are…slightly better than others I’ve tried. The top band leaves a dent in my hair, but it is otherwise comfortable. The ear cups get hot in a hurry…the ear cups also cause the tops of my ears to start to ache after a couple hours. Breaks are needed with these….I would not recommend for marathon users…but comfort is subjective, so you never know until you try. The volume wheels aren’t super loose on mine, but I still touch and change the volume levels every-freaking-time I take these headphones on and off…pretty annoying, especially when you turn the volume all the way to chat and think there’s something wrong with them. readjusting volume becomes second nature quickly, but Id rather not have to. These volume controls should have been stiffer, or a tick style wheel instead of a smooth roll. There is a tick at the midway point between chat and sound levels. To sum up the software…I open the profile every time I connect these. More often than not, I notice a jump in quality. I just open the program every time now just in case it needs to be activated. I don’t mind because the jump in quality is worth it and takes a whole 2 seconds to do. Overall, I’m happy. I did a little research beyond all the paid Youtuber reviews beforehand, so I knew to get better I’d have to pay double at the least. I got these during the Primeday sale. Honestly, wait for a price drop or a sale, because I don’t think these are worth the regular retail…maybe if they had Bluetooth also…

> 3 dayComfort: This headset is the most comfortable headset I have ever owned! I often forget Im wearing them as I walk away from my PC because I hardly notice them. Which is by far the best quality this headset possesses in my opinion. Sound: The sound quality is pretty good as well. Im not an audiophile, but this headset definitely has better sound quality than the Corsairs I had before (and I LOVED that headset). Features: The surround sound is pretty good, just like any other headset Ive used. There is a 2 channel volume system which ROCKS. So you have the ability to adjust between chat or your game being louder with a dial on the headset itself, I absolutely love this feature. The sound profiles on the headset are cool and all, but I honestly dont notice much of a difference between the options. The sidetone... is really quiet. I can barely hear myself talk, because the side tone is so bad and the noise cancellation is so good! This is one of the 2 reasons I did not give 5 stars. The other reason I did not give 5 stars, is the software you use to make changes to settings. Its TERRIBLE half the time the changes I make dont apply (yes its plugged in), the other half of the time so much as opening the software causes a high pitch beep that doesnt go away unless I reboot the headset. So overall, this is a really nice headset and its definitely worth the money. But the devils in the details, and I just wish those 2 previously mentioned things were implemented better, because theyd make this headset perfect in my opinion.

Greater than one week*Note: Ive owned/used these headphones for several months now Sound quality: Great sound quality. Sure its not the same as fancy noise-canceling headphones... but the quality is still very good and rivals all other standard headsets. The sound quality is at par, but its not the reason you are buying these headphones, keep reading. The wireless connection is flawless: the reason why were not using our fancy Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones with our computers, is because the sound quality leaves much to be desired. If at any point, you have two different sounds coming in at the same time, Bluetooth headsets tend to have issues with this. You get sound cutting out, and in other cases the headset will just completely ignore one of the sources. With the arctis headset, you are wirelessly connected via a USB dongle, meaning you wont face the same issues as the Bluetooth headset. THIS, is the reason why you are buying this headset, and in this department, it performs flawlessly. You will get un-interrupted sound in the same way you would with a wired headset. The battery life is okay: compared to other peripherals that need to be charged, like your keyboard and mouse, the headset will need to be charged far more often. However, its important to note that this is not a product defect. Because the device is outputting sound, its going to naturally use more power and drain battery quicker. With heavy usage youll need to charge the headset every 4 days or so and theres a little light that will tell you your battery status. This battery life is on par with other competitors. I highly recommend this product.

> 3 daySound: Lets get this out of the way first: These arent audiophile headphones. However, what you are getting is a good depth and smoothness of sound with just enough bass that you can feel the rattle when things get crazy. What you get here is a headset thats great for music, but damn near life-changing for games - especially if youre coming from the budget class. I highly recommend setting the equalizer software to Immersive and loading your favorite shooter. Its worth noting that bass levels have been improved in this 2019 version over the legacy model. Comfort: As compared to the 2018 model, the 2019 release enjoys a greater standard of comfort with deep, comfortable earcups and a light profile. Its actually pretty easy to forget that youre wearing these, even for someone with an exceptionally large head (sorry mom) like mine. Software, driver support and functionality: In terms of the wireless capabilities, build quality and so on, these feel just as premium as the price would suggest. The driver suite (which is rather mandatory, so go get it) is lightweight and adds some decent equalizer functionality - Nothing exceptional, but its still a solid value add. Additionally, 7.1 surround support has been improved over last year - Setting the surround profile to Large Room produces a good depth of sound that doesnt feel flat, making for an enjoyable music-listening experience in addition to the obvious gaming benefits. Conclusion: Youll probably note that most of the middling reviews for this headset are for the Legacy model. As those complaints have been addressed to varying degrees, I now feel safe in calling this one of the most well-rounded wireless headsets available today - with the caveat that Bass junkies might want to look elsewhere. The bass here is just good enough to rattle your brains just a little bit, but you can tell that its intentionally subdued to bring it more in-line with the rest of the soundscape as compared to many other gaming headsets.

> 3 dayI picked up the Arctis 7 2019 Edition (not to be confused with the Legacy Edition) for a mere $118 + tax, and it is by far highest quality product Ive ever seen at this price point. Simply put, everything about this headset screams luxury straight out of the box. The design is sleek, sturdy, and visually satisfying. Its incredibly difficult to see a difference in build quality between the Arctis 7 and most $400 flagship headsets. The design is just the tip of the iceberg: I was pleasantly surprised to hear these for the first time. They deliver an audible punch that is hard to find in wireless headphones at this price. While I initially assumed theyd sound good enough for a cheap gaming headset, these exceeded my expectations. Theyre loud, smooth, clear, & the bass packs a punch. There is no noticeable lag or delay. The equalizer you can play around with in the easy-to-use SteelSeries Engine 3 software allows for almost endless customization. The microphone itself is on par with the quality of the audio, and indeed is one of the best you can get on a wireless gaming headset. I was satisfied with how my voice comes through clearly with no obvious change in tone or pitch. I sound much better through these headphones than I do when, say, listening to recorded playback of my voice through a smartphone video. This headset also does everything you need it to with gaming. They handle cinematic-style audio with flying colors, and youll feel fully immersed while playing your games. I tested these on Diablo 3 and Metro: Exodus, and wearing the headset really boosted the experience. The directional audio is flawless; its easy to determine where sounds are coming from and having this feature activated doesnt sacrifice the quality of audio. While playing Metro, a Watchman came charging from behind me. I could very clearly hear its footsteps running across a train-cart, and I nearly had a heart attack! Id forgotten how much more terrifying/intense directional audio can make games, but also how useful it is. Comfort is one of the most crucial features of the Arctis 7, which fit my head straight out of the box. Right away I noticed how comfortable they are, especially the plush, airy, well-made ear cushions which fit snugly around my ears. Thanks to the air-weave fabric, my ears dont feel hot or get sweaty at all. I can also barely feel the adjustable strap, which fits around the top of my head snugly, but not too tightly. The only gripe I have, which is minor and doesnt bother me too much, is that the set does feel a little bit heavy due to being made with high quality material. But Id much prefer this than the set feeling cheap or flimsy. My neck was a little stiff from wearing them, but Ive gotten used to it with time. In the end, I couldnt be happier with this purchase. I was facing a dilemma: unsure if I was willing to buy a wireless headset at this price. My rationale was that wireless wouldnt be worth it if it meant sacrificing audio quality, so I almost didnt buy them. I was certain that it wasnt possible to find a quality wireless headset without spending hundreds. Man, was I wrong! After reading reviews, I just had a gut feeling that these would be what I was hoping for, and they turned out to be that and more. Theres obviously a reason they were rated the Best Gaming Headset of 2019 by numerous reviewers. I absolutely, without hesitation, recommend these to anyone who just wants an amazing gaming headset without needing studio quality sound. Below is the list of features and how Id rate them: Overall Audio: 4.0 / 5.0 stars Directional Audio: 4.8 / 5.0 stars Microphone: 4.7 / 5.0 stars Build & Design: 4.8 / 5.0 stars Ease of Use: 5.0 / 5.0 stars Comfort & Fit: 4.8 / 5.0 stars Packaging: 3.9 / 5.0 stars Value: 4.7 / 5.0 stars Overall: 4.5 out of 5.0. Amazing product! Highly recommend!
