> 3 daySo from a technical perspective, this headset does what its supposed to do: Play sound, wirelessly. The range is decent. The buttons are fine. The mute indicator on the mic is nice. But heaven forbid something goes wrong with your headset like something did to mine, and nothing matters anymore. My headset stopped charging abruptly one day, so I filed a service ticket through their purposely obtuse service system. Heaven forbid I actually want to speak to a human. After a few back and forth exchanges, they decided my headset was indeed defective and worthy of RMA. HOO BOY THIS IS WHERE THE FUN STARTS. You want to know what its like filing an RMA with the Vogons? This is what its like: SS: File this paperwork, include your receipt, picture of headset, serial number, PICTURE of serial number, and mail a blood sample. ME: DONE SS: OK, now PHYSICALLY DESTROY YOUR HEADSET, but you have to do it EXACTLY THIS WAY or we void your RMA. ME: DONE SS: OK, now you have to take EXACTLY THESE PICTURES of the front, back, left, and right side of the headset, the serial number must be showing in EVERY PICTURE and you have to also print out this QR code and also have that visible in EVERY PICTURE or we void your RMA. ME: Thats....almost not physically possible due to the location of the serial number but Ill do my best, here you go. SS: WARNING WARNING WARNING THERE IS A DISCREPANCY IN YOUR RMA. WE CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT KIND OF DISCREPANCY BECAUSE IT IS A SECURITY RISK BUT NOW YOU CAN MAIL US ALL THE CUT UP PARTS OF THE HEADSET. ALSO SHIPPING IS AT YOUR EXPENSE BECAUSE WE ARE IDIOTS. ME: Security risk...for an RMA? Now I have to fish this thing out of the trash. Here you go. Sent. SS: Thank you, also we dont actually track shipments or have any accountability in our receivables department, so its UP TO YOU to let us know when the item has been delivered, failure to EMAIL US TELLING WE RECEIVED YOUR ITEM will delay your request. ME: JFC. Okay, done. SS:We received your item, and verified everything but will still inexplicably take another 3 days to email you a coupon code for a new headset, and by the way heres another 30 rules to follow which, if violated, void your coupon and RMA. Look guys - I understand you want to reduce the risk of people abusing your RMA process, but I really, really cant get behind a company that automatically treats every one of their clients like a criminal. Ive had better luck helping someone file for social security disability through the court system. If Steelseries was less insane about their warranty process, Id give this 5 stars. But as it stands, it COST ME MONEY to replace something under warranty and Ive been without a working headset for 3 weeks, so sorry you get to stick with 1-star.

> 3 daySpent a lot of time reading negative comments on different wireless headsets so wasnt sure if I should get them. Ill address some of the negatives other reviewers gave to clear some things up. The first being about the mic picking up everything but your voice. I experienced this for about a minute, then looked at the instructions that tell you to position the mic away from your mouth and suddenly it worked great. No one has complained about how I sound in game or in discord. Mic is also retractable which is great so my cats dont chew on it. These are not 100% noise cancelling headphones, which I prefer because I still like to be aware of things going on outside of the game but some people dont like that. So take that into consideration if that is a big concern for you. I am not an audiophile so they sound great to me. I havent even felt the need to really adjust sound settings. I can wear them for hours with no issue but it is worth mentioning your ears will go inside the earcups or whatever which is better for me since ones that put pressure directly on my ears usually cause my ears to hurt after a bit. The biggest con (not really even an issue) for me is I wanted wireless headset so I can move around more freely on my laptop but the adapter has a lengthy cable which I just leave bundled up so it doesnt get in the way.

> 3 dayI tried many wireless headphones from other brands before I decided to stay with this one, including some Sennheisers and Plantronics Backbeat Pro 2. Im glad that I bought this headset. The material for the ear cushions is a soft, breathable fabric, not the pleather that is typical of so many other products. This means that your ears will avoid temperature extremes much better than they would with that material. The fabric also allows the cushions to more successfully mold to your head and create (in my experience) less pressure. The sound the Arctis 7 delivers meets my expectations. Im coming off of owning a set of Audio Technica studio monitor headphones so I definitely expected something more true to sound than what you typically see in a gaming headset, which often have overbearing bass boosting. These sound great, honestly. The bass hits when it should and you dont lose your mids or highs in the process. Unfortunately I cant speak to the quality of the microphone as I use a standing mic. The headband was something that I was skeptical of at first, being that I had only ever had traditional padded headset bands in the past. I think this might honestly be a better solution. It doesnt cause the pressure you can feel from a traditional band so you can wear it for hours and hours on end without any discomfort. The battery life isnt something that Ive measured directly, but I can go a full days use (heavy use) on a single charge at the very least and the charge time seems to be very fast so it really isnt an issue. The only negative I can leverage against the headset is something that Im not even entirely sure is the fault of the headset. I had an issue of it not putting out any sound after I tried to use it after putting my pc to sleep and then waking it. Power cycling the headset didnt fix it and changing settings in the SteelSeries software didnt fix it. Id have to either restart my pc or unplug the receiver and plug it back in. Very annoying though. All in all, I feel like I can safely recommend this headset to someone wanting a good pair of wireless headphones for home use.

> 3 dayI’ve been using this headset exclusively for gaming on both my PC and PS4 for a month and a half now. Overall, I’d say it’s a very good headset and a nice upgrade from my Logitech G930 headset. Sound - (5/5) quality sound on both the PC and PS4. Take note that you don’t get true 7.1 surround sound on the console - that’s only capable on the PC. Mic - (4/5) my friends say that I cut out sometimes when I talk. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s too far from my mouth but I haven’t had any other complaints. The mic is also retractable, which is pretty convenient. Aesthetics - (4/5) pretty solid looking headset. They didn’t cheap out on the materials used. However, I’m not a big fan of the strap to adjust the fit on your head. It’ll be a hit or miss for some people. Comfort - (2.5/5) The biggest letdown with this headset. After gaming for at least 3 hours the top of my ears start to hurt. I have a rather average sized head and ears so I was so disappointed to find out that they bothered my ears after prolonged gaming. This could be a make or break for many but I’d advise seeing if other reviewers are having the same issue. Button placement - (3/5) for some reason they placed all the buttons right where your hands would grab when you’re pulling them off your head, so it’s easy to accidentally change up some settings. The mute button is also on the back left side of the headset, so it isn’t easily accessible and will have you clumsily feeling around before you press it. Tip: if you’re using this headset for the first time and cannot hear your fellow gamers in voice chat, you need to roll the wheel on the bottom right side of the headset. There’s a setting that allows you to drown out voice chat and turn up the game’s audio instead. Hope this helped!

> 3 dayI had my headphones for one year and today, the microphone snapped off, I tried to detach the microphone and only use the audio function because I have a mic on my PC but the wiring is all connected and I pulled the ear apart. This is great for audio but poor for talking. Keep that in mind when making this purchase.

> 3 dayok so. This is my 1st review on a product so dont expect pro level stuff. I bought this headset awhile back when my corsair headphones broke. (bass faded out and i was getting tired of hearing a cracking sound from the item. After receiving the headset in the mail I was surprised by simplify box decoration of it. After getting all the components out of the box it toke me about 10 mins of setting up and reading the instruction book and light installs of the software to the headphones. After all that the headphones works like a dream. Tho, The only down side i could even come close to is this. Charing the headset is a bit a of issue. i understand that its wireless and that means it will need a battery within it. But the simple Red for near dead, Yellow for half way & Green for good to go kind of (in my own opinion ) should be replaced with a number percent. telling you and showing you how much you have. All and All, good headset work your money

> 3 dayIve gone through a lot of high end headphone including, logitech, corsair, razer, sennheiser, sony, jbl, turtle, hyperx, beyerdynamics, sony, boss, lucid sound, technica, and jabra-just to name a few. Ive owned some that werent aimed at gaming with price tags over 1k, focal, grado, onkyo. The arctis 7 I think are the best bang for the buck, the software is very intuitive with my frp games, the lossless sound once adjusted and maximized is excellent. The biggest thing is the fit, they dont squish my ear in any way, they dont fall off my head when i have to bend down and pick up the pizza I just dropped before the dog gets it. The buttons are placed so you dont change settings while turning them off and on. You know which button your pressing by the feel. No they dont sound as good as the over 1k headphones when playing music, but for gaming the Arctis is an excellent choice.

> 3 dayI saw a lot of complaints and issues on these online but it seems it was from the early early models of them. Mine have been pretty flawless since Ive gotten them. There was some hiccups early on getting the hang of how it actually charges and not though, and some general use confusion all over online. To clear it up for anyone - It WILL charge with the headset off, light up mic thing as red, just show no charging light. BUT when you then turn them on itll keep the last color it was prior to charge, so if it was dead and you unplug after charging it while its off itll stay red, plug it back in while its off, turn on, unplug, shows green. - Dial on right have it at the halfway notch, this mixes VOICE and GAME, it can be confusing at first and if not done right sound quality is terrible and its quiet. - Get SS engine, you can edit them to simulate 7.1 you can change a whole sound mixer, and a few other things, apply it once it saves it on the headset this works for first time setup for using on a console too. -Last if your headset seems to brick or just go wonky, left ear cup you take the foam off, theres a tiny pinhole for a master reset switch, stick a pin in for a few seconds and itll full reset the headset if it bugs out Steelseries really needs far better instructions to come with this and online. Users online like reddit the answers are terrible and 90% are just flat wrong. Spend the first days getting to know this headset or youll think things are broken that are fully functional..

> 3 dayI wanted this headset mainly due to that many influencers uses it such as faze and etc. I thought it was going to be the best of the best, but was disappointed. The sound that the headset produces comes out tinny and dried out. I tried to fix the audio by downloading the software and trying out my own settings. I’ve also tried other people’s settings. This headset isn’t known for its noise cancellation feature, so don’t hold too much expectation on that. It doesn’t block out that much noise. You can still hear people within a 10-15ft radius. The build of the headset isn’t up to par, but I can deal with it. The design of the headset, the Way it can swivel makes the frame ridged. I’m not a fan of the band used the adjust the size. If you have a big head the top of the headset bar would sit on your head. It can get uncomfortable especially because it doesn’t have that much padding. Overall I would buy this headset due to the hype surrounding it. I love the matte black it looks sleek. I would not buy this headset for the price even though it’s wireless or Bluetooth. I gave the “Gaming” category a 4/5 due to the hype. I gave the “sound quality” a 3/5 because it’s not the great for the price. I gave the “noise cancellation” a 2/5 because it’s pretty much non existent. If you have the original soft mesh material it’s not going to do much. If you have the leather it’s an improvement, but annoying how you can’t chose before buying.

> 3 dayI picked up the Arctis 7 2019 Edition (not to be confused with the Legacy Edition) for a mere $118 + tax, and it is by far highest quality product Ive ever seen at this price point. Simply put, everything about this headset screams luxury straight out of the box. The design is sleek, sturdy, and visually satisfying. Its incredibly difficult to see a difference in build quality between the Arctis 7 and most $400 flagship headsets. The design is just the tip of the iceberg: I was pleasantly surprised to hear these for the first time. They deliver an audible punch that is hard to find in wireless headphones at this price. While I initially assumed theyd sound good enough for a cheap gaming headset, these exceeded my expectations. Theyre loud, smooth, clear, & the bass packs a punch. There is no noticeable lag or delay. The equalizer you can play around with in the easy-to-use SteelSeries Engine 3 software allows for almost endless customization. The microphone itself is on par with the quality of the audio, and indeed is one of the best you can get on a wireless gaming headset. I was satisfied with how my voice comes through clearly with no obvious change in tone or pitch. I sound much better through these headphones than I do when, say, listening to recorded playback of my voice through a smartphone video. This headset also does everything you need it to with gaming. They handle cinematic-style audio with flying colors, and youll feel fully immersed while playing your games. I tested these on Diablo 3 and Metro: Exodus, and wearing the headset really boosted the experience. The directional audio is flawless; its easy to determine where sounds are coming from and having this feature activated doesnt sacrifice the quality of audio. While playing Metro, a Watchman came charging from behind me. I could very clearly hear its footsteps running across a train-cart, and I nearly had a heart attack! Id forgotten how much more terrifying/intense directional audio can make games, but also how useful it is. Comfort is one of the most crucial features of the Arctis 7, which fit my head straight out of the box. Right away I noticed how comfortable they are, especially the plush, airy, well-made ear cushions which fit snugly around my ears. Thanks to the air-weave fabric, my ears dont feel hot or get sweaty at all. I can also barely feel the adjustable strap, which fits around the top of my head snugly, but not too tightly. The only gripe I have, which is minor and doesnt bother me too much, is that the set does feel a little bit heavy due to being made with high quality material. But Id much prefer this than the set feeling cheap or flimsy. My neck was a little stiff from wearing them, but Ive gotten used to it with time. In the end, I couldnt be happier with this purchase. I was facing a dilemma: unsure if I was willing to buy a wireless headset at this price. My rationale was that wireless wouldnt be worth it if it meant sacrificing audio quality, so I almost didnt buy them. I was certain that it wasnt possible to find a quality wireless headset without spending hundreds. Man, was I wrong! After reading reviews, I just had a gut feeling that these would be what I was hoping for, and they turned out to be that and more. Theres obviously a reason they were rated the Best Gaming Headset of 2019 by numerous reviewers. I absolutely, without hesitation, recommend these to anyone who just wants an amazing gaming headset without needing studio quality sound. Below is the list of features and how Id rate them: Overall Audio: 4.0 / 5.0 stars Directional Audio: 4.8 / 5.0 stars Microphone: 4.7 / 5.0 stars Build & Design: 4.8 / 5.0 stars Ease of Use: 5.0 / 5.0 stars Comfort & Fit: 4.8 / 5.0 stars Packaging: 3.9 / 5.0 stars Value: 4.7 / 5.0 stars Overall: 4.5 out of 5.0. Amazing product! Highly recommend!
