    Greater than one week

I own many small and large flashlights and lanterns, and my favorites are Streamlight products. This is a new one for me, and the fact it is powered by 3 AA batteries meant a less expensive alternative to the lithium batteries I use in most of my favorite products. I bought it for the downward facing area LED to use when I walk my dogs at night. WOW - I got more than I expected. It is somewhat more bulky and clunky-looking than the sleek lithium flashlights, but..... This flashlight is almost as bright as my fancier flashlights straight ahead plus it has the really great downward area light. I still love my other lights but I use this EVERY night to take the dogs out now.

I was in the market for a simple and reliable general purpose flashlight. One with a straightforward on and off switch (not one with a half dozen modes), and one that is tough and water proof. This light more than fits the bill. It’s really two flashlights in one. The spot beam allows for momentary on, with a light press of the switch, or constant on, with a firm click of the switch. The flood beam is click on only, and is perfect for working up close, when you want wide and even coverage. With the reputation of Streamlight, toughness and reliability is a given. The flashlight is mostly sleek, and as advertised, the clip doesn’t snag. I say “mostly” sleek, because the eyelet/lug at the lens cap (which is designed as part of the locking mechanism for a different model) could potentially snag. I wish they would have eliminated it on this model since it serves no purpose. The flashlight is comfortable to hold, easy to operate (no multi modes), light weight, and at 7 inches long it’s small enough to easily fit in a glovebox, drawer, or coat pocket. The spot beam is sufficient for most general purpose uses. I was under the house the other day and the spot beam provided practical useable light out to about 25 feet (probably a bit beyond, but that’s the length of the space I was working in), the flood beam offer significantly less useful distance (maybe 8 ft). I was so impressed with the first flashlight, that I ordered five more. Ive replaced all the flashlights in my house and vehicles. I then ordered two additional flashlights to give as gifts. And, will likely order more for gifts in the future. There are cheaper flashlights on the market, but I’m a firm believer in, You get what you pay for. When the time comes that I need a flashlight, I want to know I have a flashlight that will work. And, with Energizer AA Lithium Batteries (which I purchased separately on Amazon), this flashlight is going to be ready and reliable even if it sits idle for 19 years (the lithium batteries boast a 20 year shelf life). Update Aug 2022: Im still very happy with these lights! Combined with the lithiums Ive not had to replace any of the batteries. I use them every so often, as one might expect. Ive referred these lights to several friends who have then purchased one or two. Hey, Streamlight - do you need an ambassador? Ill be happy to entertain an offer.

I wanted a good water proof flashlight that uses common batteries & just turns on and off. No cycling through useless strobe and power settings. I didnt want a tactical machined aircraft aluminum survival fantasy light that I could show off to my friends and make myself feel more like a man. Im happy with my choice. This is simple powerful light from a reputable manufacturer.

Overall, a great dual purpose light. The clip holds the light in my shirt / jacket pocket securely enough when using the area light, but not if youre trying to run. The forward facing beam is on par with most other mid tier flashlights, with no complaints on my part.

One of the most clever designs for a flashlight Ive ever come across. Ive been using Streamlight flashlights for decades, having used the Litebox and Survivor for many years in the fire service. They stand the test of time, Ive still got several of them that I purchased over 20 years ago. The Dualie is the only general purpose flashlight youll ever need, but youll probably want to own more than one! Theyre great for home, garage, in the car, in the office, etc. Light output is very good, its around 3000K so not warm but not harsh daylight either...more of a neutral bright white. The spot beam throws pretty far for a 3AA light this small and lightweight, and the flood beam is very good for lighting up a few feet away, but tails off after that. Again, for a 3AA light, its impressive. The clip combined with the flood beam is perfect for hands-free operation. So far battery life seems pretty decent, and the nice thing about it using standard alkaline or lithium cells is that when the power goes out or you dont have access to power for recharging, you simply use cheap AA cells and no worries.

I had a flashlight like this only it was black. It finally wore out. I tried to find one just like it but couldnt so I ordered a wide-beam flashlight thinking it would be fine. Well, it wasnt. I finally found this one on Amazon and was so glad. I use it to walk my little dog after dark, and it is perfect!!!!! Im so glad I finally found it!

If you want a short answer... buy it, its great. The long answer is the clicky buttons seem durable, the body feels pretty solid despite being made of plastic, and the light is more than acceptable. This is a very simple light which I love and I can hand this to anyone and they not get mad about different modes. The output is more than adequate but definitely not as bright as some higher end lights. The flood light on the bottom is actually incredibly useful. I have several streamlights, Fenixs, & Olights but this is probably my new go to for around the house or in power outages. I will probably buy at least 1 more for my family. Only con I have with it is that it is designed in USA but made in China.

I got this for my wife to walk with the dogs in the mornings & evenings. Our property is large and wooded, so avoiding everything from unexpected holes and down limbs to a myriad of spider webs and occasional wildlife is the task. Its been making the trip twice a day for what seems like a year now with zero issues or complaints. Its on the third set of batteries, but they last quite a while AND they are much lower cost than CR123s in high end / super bright lights. I know its been rained on and dropped (on earth, not hard surface) without issue. I dont believe she uses the flood light option much, but it works. No complaints.

Light could be brighter. Seems to have a nice, tough construction. The footlight feature is nice when walking the dogs at night.
