13-06-2025I purchased this light in fall of 2010 as my primary light for my structural firefighting gear. I keep it mounted over the right chest where I have attached a ring to the top of the clip, and hooked that ring to a clip on my gear. I find this allows my to strap the base of the light in a more secure manner with the velcro light strap on my gear. I have exposed it to heat multiple times and it has remained in tact (probably in the 300-400 range for several minutes per exposure). The button on top is easy to find with a gloved hand and operate. It cuts well through smoke - compared to my helmet light which can blind me at times (think headlights and fog lights on a car with regard to where each is positioned on my person). It is also pretty durable. I have crawled around with it where it gets a little scuffed on the floor/ground, but it shines true. The battery life noted by the manufacture was met, though I think it lasted longer than they indicated. All in all, its a good light. It can be a little bulky, and you have to watch how close you are to a ladder or other surface because it may get caught, but that would go for anything attached to the front of your body while working.

> 3 dayShort Version: --------------------- Pros: -Great design for an active worker as far as being able to hook onto thin pipe/wires, edges or the front of your bibs. -Very strong main construction materials. (see cons) -Bright enough for close to mid-range work areas. -Clip is very strong and easy to clip on and off of things with a nice little metal triangle on top to hang it from something if needed. Although, the clip has a strong bite, I just wish it had more teeth to hold. It just wobbles wherever gravity points it. Cons: -Very cheap critical construction materials. (see long version for details if you dare) a. Black threaded bezel around light is very weak and thin. b. Springs for the battery cartridge are tall and not tempered/are very weak. c. Clip for battery door was so tight to take on and off that it wore out the hard plastic. No longer holds. -Didnt last very long at all (1 month) Long Version (cool story bro): ----------------------------------------- The LED flashlight market is heavily saturated and daunting to find the right one for you but if you are willing to shell out for a brand you know you trust, youd just assume its good. Reading some of the great reviews here and loving the few Ive already had for a long time, I didnt think this would be any different. I needed something waterproof, durable and trustworthy. This flashlight has not been any of these things. My job is very active and extremely hazardous so this looked great for the job with some of the ergonomic features it has. The second week of service I had dropped this flashlight from about waste high landing on the threaded lens cap. At first glance, it was ok, I thought. But it leaked water inside the bulb an hour later and I looked closer and it was completely cracked through and popped off the thread. The threaded plastic ring is made of a really cheap and very thin plastic with a tiny gasket inside. So, I found some really strong black silicon and patched it up. It worked ok, albeit pretty ugly, for about another week and then I found it was difficult to turn on. Frustrated, I found it would turn on if I tapped it on something solid while pressing the button. I had found that the contact springs inside had already flattened out. The spring quality is hands down some of the worst I have ever seen. Its fairly tall and very thin with inadequate temper. Two failures from a streamlight? No...three. The little latch on the side wore the very hard plastic down and wouldnt hold itself closed anymore. Thats after 1 month(180ish working hours). Granted, I do work in a hellish environment so I dont expect things to last but this survivor title is laughable. Bring the right tool for the job; especially when your life counts on it.
