This smart plug was so easy to install and configure. It took moments to unbox, plug in, add to the SwitchBot app and sync with Google Home (sorry Alexa). There is a manual button on the side and the switch feels very solid. You can even go nuts and use an NFC tag to easily automate this (and other SwitchBot) smart devices. Really happy with the plug so far.

This product was pretty easy to setup and install. I havent had issues with it disconnecting either. I had heard good things about switchbot and decided to give them a try but wow I really did not like the app. I have many other smart switches that use the Smart life app or the Tuya app that I was wanting to replace because these from switchbot have energy monitoring. Well Having to download another app + having to sign up for an account was pretty annoying. I signed up for an account without being given a choice and then starting running into problems with the app. Needless to say all the annoyances quickly outweighed the benefits for me. The SmartLife plugs are often smaller or the same size with dual plugs. These from switchbot are just too big, and with a mediocre user experience, even for the price. 33 stars, I wish I could like these but Ill be staying with my cheaper, smaller, and easier to use smart plugs.

The first thing that I noticed about this was the maker...it was interesting for me to see Monster throw their proverbial hat in the smart home ring but I think its great. The second thing I noticed was the MSRP but it was actually very reasonable. I remember a few years ago anything like this would be triple or more. In addition to this being Smart, it tracks energy usage. I am not sure how accurate it is (and I dont have a device at the moment to confirm it), but the math seems to make sense and add up. This was simple to install, it has been pretty easy to integrate with my existing system. I like the simplicity, the features, and the value. Pros: Easy to install Great value Tracks energy usage Works well Cons: I wish it took up a bit less space because it is sometimes more difficult to maneuver around it

There’s some kind of metal prongs blocking the ground port, so nothing can actually be plugged in. Glad I got a manufacturing defect that prevented use, rather than an invisible one that started a fire.

I use it for the grow light on my succulents. It turns the light on and off just as I have it set.

The instructions are not good for working with Alexa. At first I thought you needed a hub despite it was advertised as not needing a hub. After further research I figured out the secret. You have to download the Alexa App and do your final sync and setup there. It now works perfect with Alexa on my Firestick. I think most of the bad reviews are because its not very clear how to do setup for Alexa. I was almost going to give up thinking I need a hub and was ready to leave a bad review.

Very easy to connect. And works great with Alexa. Now hand free with my living room lamp, great product with the price.

If you want to move this plug around and look at the energy data, you wont be able to reset it each time. It appears to only show cumulative energy data.
