The Bose SoundLink Revolve, the Portable Bluetooth Speaker with 360 Wireless Surround Sound, Triple Black

I have this speaker. For fifteen months I loved this speaker, but now I dont. I did not get this speaker from Amazon, so this is in no way a referendum on Amazon at all. I have been an avid Bose fan for many years. I have a Bose system for surround sound connected to my television. I have made it a requirement in most of the cars I have purchased. For years, they were the only headphones I would buy. One defective Bluetooth speaker has ruined many years of brand loyalty. I received this speaker as a gift a year and ten months ago for Christmas. One day, I plugged it in to charge it, and when I went to get it the next morning, it was dead. Several times, I tried to charge it. I moved outlets, changed cords, updated firmware, and performed resets, all to no avail. Online research revealed that there are many who have had this issue. It is apparently a defect that has reared its ugly little head with countless people who own it. A call to Bose lets me know that in order to even look at my speaker, they want $75. The biggest issue with getting service is the fact that I dont even know the serial number for the speaker. Supposedly, it is on the bottom of the device. Take a look at the picture with this review. They have made it virtually impossible to read the serial number! Can you read it? Guess what? Nobody can. Steer clear from this speaker, unless you want an over-priced paperweight.

I had trouble getting this wireless speaker to work properly. I thought it was a defective unit so returned it for another. Its replacement worked exactly the same so I then realized it was my internet service that was dysfunctional. The speaker works fine in another area!

Great sound at all volume levels!

Battery doesn’t last long. Good quality of sound! Cool I take it everywhere!

Updated (April 19, 2017): Ive been using this speaker with Amazon dot for a few days now, and Ive noticed a few intermittent shutting off of sound while playing. The auto shut-off mode is disabled--see the original review below how to disable the shut-off mode. If I unplug the cable from the speaker and re-plug it back into the speaker, the sound comes back. Ive never noticed this problem with a simpler speaker the dot was previously connected to. So it must be this speaker. Original Review (5-stars. titled Great speaker with an option to disable its auto off mode!): Amazing speaker. I connect this to my Amazon Dot via aux cable. I had to press Aux and + at the same time and the speaker speaks, saying Auto off is disabled. Press the same buttons again to enable it again. By default its enabled.

I am a true believer in Bose. I have the Soundwear,the soundlink mini,two microlink speakers and with the price reduction to $159 I bought two of these so I could link them up for stereo. I ve been listening for an hour and I am very pleased with the sound. The mini soundlink is stereo. You need two of these to get stereo,but once you set them up they sound great. For $330 this is an incredible wireless stereo system and each one individually,even though they are in mono still sounds great. I ve eyed these many times but at $200 each I couldnt justify the price. The $40 reduction in price was the deal breaker.

App requires operating system of version 9.0 or higher. Won’t work with iphone 4. Or iPod touch.

Really full sound for its size. Battery life is awesome! Small enough to take on car trips for those of us without satellite radio. Happy with purchase.
