The Elf on the Shelf Girl Light, Red and White

> 3 dayThis is the Elf on the Shelf, that you see in the stores. There are light skinned, and dark skinned versions, with either a boy or girl of each. No matter which you choose, it comes with a book (no way to order new without the book which would be nice since we already had 2 books already). Is it worth the cost, my kid likes them so yes, but personally its no where near worth the actual cost.

> 3 dayWe received our first Elf on the Shelf in 2008. When our son was 3, he wanted one of his own, so he took over our boy elf and our daughter asked for a girl elf. So, we have 2. While our elf antics arent as elaborate as Pinterest loves to showcase and our elves have a strict, NO Pranks policy(like no cutting of Barbies hair, no drawing on family members faces, etc), we do love seeing what fun things they are up to each morning. They are a bit pricey, but the way they come displayed and the book is quite lovely. Since 2008, we have bought a couple to give to our kids teachers for their classrooms. We have bought a couple for friends kids. It has become a tradition in our family. Our kids are getting bigger, but they still get a good laugh out of them in the mornings. I get that folks may see it as just something else they have to worry about or do, but you can make it as simple or as elaborate as YOU want. Folks are especially needing smiles THIS year--one of the worst I can think of-2020. My kids started asking at the end of October when our elves were returning to our house, so setting up a scene 24 days in a row is not a big deal for us. I think even if my kids were grown, I would still do Elf on the Shelf every year. Its worth their smiles. I would highly recommend adding one of these little guys or girls to your holiday traditions. As it stands, we will probably be adding the other 2 elves available (with the lighter skin tone) to our elf family.

> 3 dayFor the price of this, I expected it to be flawless when it arrived. Unfortunately the box was dented on the corner, as if it was dropped before shipping. The book inside the box was also crinkled on one corner, and it was very noticeable. The elf is extremely hard to position and her hands came sewn together. If I had it to do over again, I would have just purchased it locally.

> 3 dayThis arrived fast and was packaged nicely. The hands are stuck together so we did end up cutting that so It was easier to do more things with.

Greater than one weekSo this was my first year doing the elf on the shelf and I this elf seems to be popular, so I bought it. I ALWAYS read reviews and somehow I missed it but this one does NOT have wired arms and legs which really put a damper on things and his hands are stitched together. I ended up finding some floral wire in the basement and snipped his hands apart, tore the stitches out of the tips of the hands and the creases of the elbows and ran the wire up through his arms and sewed them shut again. Still didnt work great, the wire I had on hand was too thin. Oh well, we made due and my 5 yr old loved him.
