> 3 dayIm officially applying to be the grinch after having to compete with the internet soccer parents of the elf on the shelf world... The amount of times I had to hold in a violent yelp from burring my fingers on hot glue, kicking something barefooted cuz you HAVE TO BE QUIET when moving the small red monster around, being blinded by and inhaling glitter after gasping when I was blinded, defending against the evil cat and dogs who all of the sudden have become psycho dragons hell bent on eating said Star-Sprinkle-Sunshine-Flower-Sven or whatever the kids named it, attempt supermans tall leaps in single bounds over all the cute floor decorations in the dark you now curse past you out silently for even thinking was a good idea to buy, all so you can see your beautiful, tiny humans smiling face at the silliness the little red demon you spent 3 hours the night before manipulating now displays... I kid you not... This was made for a whole different level of parent league that I clearly am not part of and honestly am scared to think of ever joining lol. In all honesty though, the story it comes with is super cute and the website for the elf on the shelf is very nicely done and super easy to use for the kiddos. The elf is made of very durable felt fabric and is easy to pin in position with micro safety pins or even push pins. The little extra kits you can get for him are cute but not necessary for a fun time. Its very light but does not come with wires in the arms and legs making it a little harder to pose at times. I fixed this by using a metal clothes hanger and running a piece through both legs and arms joining in the middle. (Made hanging from the zipline powered by the ceiling fan he had established from the kitchen to the tree 2 rooms away much easier to pose and keep him on....yes I did that) The material does however stain and discolor easy and the face is easily dirtied. The paint doesnt wash away so the plastic is easy to clean just dont use anything abrasive. The box he comes in is very sturdy and good for storage for both the doll and book. (: Good luck if youre new to this! May the force of caffeine, creativity and patience be with you lol.

> 3 daySearched high n low for a dark boy because I tend give them away when seen. No more for my grandson. I and he loves it. Thought about getting more just in case, but, I’ll wait. Thank you again for availability.

Greater than one weekIt’s a very cute elf, although there are only 4 options, no blonde elves to look like my kids. Also, the elf is pretty flimsy so you can’t pose it very easily, and it falls over if you don’t prop it up against something. The book and story were cute, and the website offers printable adoption certificates and a letter from Santa, so it makes the whole adoption process seem more real and magical. The kids love it, but it’s kind of a pain for the parents. I ended up buying a separate “Elf Doctor” surgery kit to conduct my own surgery on the elf to make her bendable and pose-able. Kind of a lot of work. Wish they just made the elf bendable and pose-able from the beginning! It would make the parents’ job much easier! Also, since the elf is mass produced, the kids notice when the same-looking elf is at the store, another kid’s house, their school, activity facilities, etc., so be ready to explain why (maybe she is your elf’s twin?). But the kids are having fun with it, so there’s that.

> 3 daySo much fun!! I made Scout a good elf. He didn’t do naughty things like the other elf’s. He baked cookies and wrote sweet notes of encouragement for my two young daughters. Ages 7 & 9. They can’t wait until he comes back for Christmas. Thank you!
