The dvd arrived in fine condition and on time. I loved this movie when it first came out - and still do. The Princess Bride spoofs all fairy tales and is quite funny, and yet the wonderful characters make it much more; a movie filled with love and good feelings- and somewhat serious in its own way. Its hard to not love even the bad guys. I read that the actors all loved working together and were sad when the movie was finished, and it shows.

To be short, since most everyone likes this one. It is a Movie about a Book that tells a story read by Grand Pa(Columbo) to his young Grand son (from some sitcom) and all the performances are (very well acted) as if their reading their lines from the book, very theatrical acting. (eeeewwuwuuuwu - not the kissy stuff again)

LOVE the book... minus some of the commentary but I do really like the movie too... in fact the movie is the reason I read the book!

This is easily a five-star movie, one of the funniest Ive ever seen. Intelligent, well-acted, and hilarious (did I mention yet that this is a very funny movie), this movie includes a pair of great swordfights, two perfect breasts, a Sicilian, a Spaniard, an albino, a six-fingered man who may or may not have killed someones father, several ROUSs (I dont really believe they exist), a rhyming giant (anybody want a peanut), shrieking eels, the cliffs of insanity, and, of course, the Dread Pirate Roberts. But the DVD is simply not up to par. This picture deserves -- no, demands -- an anamorphic transfer, well-mastered sound, and at least a few collectors edition extras. Rob Reiner was up to the task with his DVDs for Spinal Tap and When Harry Met Sally; its a shame no one cared enough to insist on the same for The Princess Bride. That said, it sure watches a heck of a lot better than my 10-year-old videotape.

Love this movie! So nice to watch it straight through without commercials or editing. Good quality disc no scratches still sealed up in plastic original packaging.

This is a masterpiece of cinema. Romance, action, adventure, fantasy, and comedy are blended well in this film centered on the theme of true love. I get excited every time this film airs on television. The framing device is well done as well with the kid getting grossed out by the kissing scenes but as the film goes, he grows up a little, and doesnt mind it so much after that.
