The Road to El Dorado

Though the songs are not up to the caliber of classic Disney, Dreamworks certainly put together a magnificent tale with The Road to El Dorado. The main characters are dynamic, entertaining, and have fun personalities. Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Kline are brilliant. There are plenty of jokes little kids will laugh at, and plenty more that will sail right over their heads and crack up the adults. (This should be an obvious statement given that its a cartoon, but dont get this movie if you want a history lesson on relations between Aztecs and the Spanish. This ending doesnt involve butchering and smallpox. Didnt have quite as much of a fun-loving ring to it.) I am in college and this is still one of my favorites. Highly recommend it!

I used to watch this movie all the time as a kid; even as Ive gotten older, I adore this movie, and many of my family and friends do, too. I have been longing to have it on DVD, so imagine my excitement when I saw it on Amazon! For five bucks (at the time of writing), its a steal. The picture is crisp and the sound is clear, what more could you want? The background art and animation is eye-catching and colorful, and the gold is so SHINY! Quite revolutionary for its time when 3D animation just started getting popular, which they used to animate said gold. The characters are hilarious and fun to watch, with wonderful voices to match. And the music! What better combination than Hans Zimmer and Elton John? Sadly the original music from the film was never released to the public, but thats for another review. Some might say the story lacks something, but I personally dont see it. I understand that a lot of the storytelling and humor may go over kids heads, but this movie is meant to be a romping good time! People lose themselves in the fun and thats whats important. Also, Dreamworks originally planned to create a TV series afterwards, so they purposefully left some unanswered questions. All in all, this movie is fun, fun, fun! I will watch it until the disc cracks from overuse! :D

Glad this Movie finally got a Blu-ray release after so long! Fun for the whole family and a classic to have in blu-ray collection.

We rented this movie because I hadseen a preview. It looked good on the preview so we rented it and enjoyed it as a family. Ages 14 and up.

The Road to El Dorado is one of my DreamWorks animated movies. Although it has a little bit of adult humor and language, I enjoy watching it. I adored the voice acting, story, and music by The Lion King team (Hans Zimmer, Elton John, and Tim Rice). I believe the theme of this movie is that friendship is more valuable than gold.

I dont know why this movie is not more well known because it is a treasure. We saw it with my stepson and now my two little boys are in love with it. They act out the scenes together with foam swords. My husband and I still laugh though we have seen it about a hundred times. I really like the messages of the movie as well. Frankly, we found it refreshing that the religious characters were the bad guys!

This is my favorite movie of all time. For nostalgia alone. This movie didn’t get the respect it deserves.

This was a gift for my sister who while moving last summer, decided to finally get rid of all the VHS cassettes they no longer could watch. We watched this Christmas night and the whole family was entranced, even my 22 year old nephew. They were singing along and quoting lines from it. It was a hit, thank you. The DVD was in good quality and shipped quickly. It was a hit, thank you.

I am so glad I found this on Amazon because I have been searching everywhere for it! My husband had been trying to get me to watch it for a long time now, but like I said, we couldnt find it. Its a cute movie and fun for the whole family. And it came in perfect condition
