They Died With Their Boots On

My mother loved this movie and I had not seen it in years. Its kinda hokie in places and nowhere near historically correct. However, its a fun movie to watch.

One of the best out there for George Armstrong Custer fans

If you want historical accuracy about George Armstrong Custer and his legacy pay a visit to the library. This is history according to Warner Bros. Studios, and no one of school age would cite it as a reference source for a term paper. Errol Flynn, handsome, debonaire, smooth...business as usual...The elegant Olivia DeHaviland, the two were never paired better than they are here. THEY DIED WITH THEIR BOOTS ON is a great film. Get it to DVD and include the lyrics to Gary Owen in the liner notes.

One of my favorite movies

Added to my Custer collection.

It was a typical classic movie. It did remind me that our political situation is similar today, as per the media influence.

This action packed biopic on Custer features, in my humble opinion, the silver screens most radiant couple. This was their eighth & last film together and they were never better. The screen lights up when they are together.

As in all Errol Flynns movies, this actor shows his ebullience and wisdom in his acting roles which enhance the films authenticity and entertainment value. Like his predecessors in the 1950s-1960s era, Flynn continued to portray truthfulness and loyalty as the hero who believes in himself to further the cause of justice. The character of General Custer is well portrayed by Flynn who dwells into the dualistic nature of man - showing the strengths and weaknesses - courage, confidence and ingenuity as the great soldier versus - insecurity and helplessness - as the civilian citizen.
