> 3 dayAlthough this movie is historically incorrect, it is exciting and fun to watch. Errol Flynn is at his early career best and Olivia De Havlon is great as Mrs. Custer. Anthony Quinn is fine as Crazy Horse.

> 3 dayI Know many people remark about the historical inaccuracies of this film, but if it is a history lesson you seek-go to school. This is a movie and an excellent one at that. True, many of the characters represent real people, but as I said it is a movie. It has good writing and a well acted plot. Most of all, it has Errol Flynn and Olivia DeHaviland in their last appearnce together. As was typical of Flynns movies, you can expect humor, romance, and a whole lot of action. Look for Anthony Quinn as Geronimo. Enjoy this for what it is, an Errol Flynn movie, not a history lesson

> 3 dayEstá genial la película, pero existiendo una versión coloreada deberían haberla tenido como primera opción porque valió la pena cuando la vi por televisión.

> 3 dayThis film is a glorification of George and Elizabeth Custer. Of course, some elements of accuracy are tossed into this Raoul Walshs adventurous waltz.

> 3 dayI dont pretend to be a student of history but what little I do know made me scratch my head with this film. The film starts off swimmingly enough charting George Armstrong Custers days as an underachieving dandy at West Point to his rise to glory as he leads a series of successful campaigns in the Civil War. When the film turns westward is when it starts getting interesting. See, Custer it turns out, according to the filmmakers, was a champion of Indian rights and the scourge of the government and its parasitic lobbyists. Yessir, Custer was ahead of his time. Not only was he embracing New Deal ideals but progressive 1960s politics as well. Oh, well, the film is at least entertaining and Im sure it gets the seal of approval from Custers descendants. Its not like that nasty depiction of him in Little Big Man. Errol Flynn is charismatic as Custer. Olivia de Havilland is luminous as his wife and the romantic spark between her and Flynn is combustible. A couple quibbles about a few supporting parts notably Hattie McDaniels tired Mammy routine and that annoying Charley Grapewin assaying another insufferable old coot.

> 3 dayMy husband, sons and myself enjoyed this movie, although Im a bit embarrassed to say that I found myself saying Wow--I didnt know it happened that way! (it didnt). My only complaint is that, whereas I usually enjoy colorized movies, I found the colorization of this movie to be a bit distracting. Colors often bled into areas where they didnt belong. In one main character the face was skin colored, but the facial scruffiness was in black and white (although not completely consistently). I understand why this version of the movie has not been made into a DVD. The colorization quality is too poor.
