> 3 dayI’ve only ever had the best experiences with Toshiba. I had 3 prior to this for how many years I can’t remember and they’ve only have ever been good which is why I opted for this brand when getting more capacity. This is a person who have tried MOST major brands over the years. All those are on the side waiting for the right tech to be able to retrieve what I lost while Toshiba steadily does the job

> 3 dayDecided to get this for my new MacBook Pro M1, and it works well with time machine. Device comes with a native USB C cable (as well as a traditional USB 3 one) to go straight to the new macs without an adapter. Backed up around 200GB in a couple hours for the first time using Time Machine. No complaints so far, though ive only had it for a week or so!

> 3 dayI bought this a year ago for my media files backups, its still running strong with no hiccups. The external case is made of plastic, its not a rugged case. Backing up 1.5 TB of files takes about 14 hours, thats about 30MB/sec, not bad for a compact USB 3.0 HD, but watch out what youre getting into backing up large files. Accessing individual files for real time work is very slow as well, not great for handling videos due to the lag time. If you play a high definition video file from the disc, it will play, but scrubbing back and forth will cause problem.

> 3 dayThis portable hard drive is so much smaller than my ancient one, and its great! I love how it powers up just being connected to the computer; and doesnt need a separate electrical connection. I got the 1TB drive for my new M1 iMac. I was worried about connecting to a Mac, but I had no issues whatsoever. Ive included a couple of pics to show what I had to do: choose the hard drive from the list so this one is now default, and then erase the Toshiba drive so it could be formatted to work with TimeMachine (there was nothing on it to begin with since it was brand new, so erasing was easy). After that everything proceeded as usual for a backup. It took about 1 1/2 hours to do the initial backup of the entire computer (around 500GB). I am super pleased with this purchase and love how easy it is to use.

> 3 dayThis is sold on Amazon as a solid state portable drive, but while it is indeed portable, this is not a solid state drive. it vibrates like an ordinary external hard disk, and Indeed, there is no reference to a solid state characteristic on either the packaging, the insert or the disk itself. This is clearly mislabeled.
