> 3 dayIts a hard drive. Seems fast enough and reliable so far. But theres a blue indicator light as bright as a cheap flashlight, easily enough to light up a corner of your room if youre unlucky enough to plug this into a computer installed in a room you sleep in. I like to keep my room dark for sleeping (as every bit of sleep research youll ever read suggests) -- and that means banishing light pollution like this. Unfortunately, the LED shines out through a raised clear plastic piece that wraps around the corner of the case. Much harder to black out than a single pinpoint light. Very poor design decision here. I will have to go through some work to blind this thing, and frankly Id just recommend avoiding it altogether.

> 3 dayI always use Toshiba drives and Im sure Ill be just as satisfied with the function of this one as with my others. However, theres a design choice on the new one that drove me up the wall the first night I used it. The light on this thing is like having police lights flashing at my desk... my desk which unfortunately is in my bedroom... where I leave things on for overnight backups. Its brighter than all my other device lights combined and it flashes while in use. I groggily got up and put three pieces of washi tape over it (which solves most other bright light problems), but that did nothing, so I added a couple layers of blue painters tape... still too bright after 5 layers... so then I added a white file label over the top of those layers and that got things manageable. (If only Id had a more superior tape on hand!) Once Im sure Im keeping it, Ill dim it by painting over it. Its a fine drive, but I wouldnt recommend it for others whose tech has to be in their bedroom!

> 3 dayI got this to add extra storage to an iPad Pro. Works great and has two connectors: one for iPad and one for Mac. So easy to transfer with either machine! Fast and compact! Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend!

> 3 dayI purchased the 2TB version of this drive. I currently use a MacBook Pro for work, and both Windows and Linux for personal use. After a bit of “tweaking” I was able to re-partition the drive to prove a Time-capsule drive for Mac, as well as “data” partitions for Max and Windows/Linux.. The drive works great otherwise. So plug and forget for the most part. I’ve only got two real issues, and both of those are actually pretty minor: 1. I wish there was a power button on it. Yes, I can disconnect when not in use, but it would be nice to leave it plugged in and just turn off when not actually using it. 2. The blue powered/activity light is freakishly bright! Like, REALLY bright, to the point where I need to cover it, or position it somewhere that the light is blocked. It is really, really distracting! Those are really just nitpicking, though. If you want a great portable drive that is fast, connects easy, csuper fast and great storage capacity, the I highly recommend this, whether you need it for extra storage or backup. The drive does come with both IuSB-A and USB-C cables, so you don’t have to go looking for cables. I am using USB-C, and I can’t complain about the speed at all. Highly recommended!

> 3 dayThis hard drive is awesome for daily backups. Its small, portable and light enough to fit in your pocket. The speed is exceptional on USB 2.0 and 3.0 and although its only 2 TB its a great deal at just 40 bucks.

05-06-2025I’ve only ever had the best experiences with Toshiba. I had 3 prior to this for how many years I can’t remember and they’ve only have ever been good which is why I opted for this brand when getting more capacity. This is a person who have tried MOST major brands over the years. All those are on the side waiting for the right tech to be able to retrieve what I lost while Toshiba steadily does the job
