Description clearly reads solid state drive. Its not. Seems to function fine and likely worth the price, just not the bargain I had anticipated.

I wrote a review on this product thinking it was a different one I have. This product works just find.

I bought this a year ago for my media files backups, its still running strong with no hiccups. The external case is made of plastic, its not a rugged case. Backing up 1.5 TB of files takes about 14 hours, thats about 30MB/sec, not bad for a compact USB 3.0 HD, but watch out what youre getting into backing up large files. Accessing individual files for real time work is very slow as well, not great for handling videos due to the lag time. If you play a high definition video file from the disc, it will play, but scrubbing back and forth will cause problem.

Its so much faster than my WD drive which fails every 3 years or less. AND this Toshiba drive runs COOL. I dont mean its cool - which it is - I mean not hot. I LOVE IT... Its writing speeds are awesome: WD 700 mb/sec TOSHIBA just went over 1.6GB/s

Contrary to what is listed this is not a SSD drive.

Its a hard drive. Seems fast enough and reliable so far. But theres a blue indicator light as bright as a cheap flashlight, easily enough to light up a corner of your room if youre unlucky enough to plug this into a computer installed in a room you sleep in. I like to keep my room dark for sleeping (as every bit of sleep research youll ever read suggests) -- and that means banishing light pollution like this. Unfortunately, the LED shines out through a raised clear plastic piece that wraps around the corner of the case. Much harder to black out than a single pinpoint light. Very poor design decision here. I will have to go through some work to blind this thing, and frankly Id just recommend avoiding it altogether.

Using it for video on my trip to places that don’t get internet . Work great. Using it with Mypin usb to hdmi media player. Works perfect don’t need a computer for it.

Super easy to use. Plug and play with timemachine on my mac desktop

I have used this hard drive as a backup of my computer and it has performed well for several months. Time will tell if it lasts for months or years to come.
