> 3 dayThis sturdy drive is a nice size, works both with my iPad and the Windows desktop (with a bit of file conversion here and there) to port from Apple to Windows file types when iCloud isnt the answer because no WiFi.

Greater than one weekLove the flexibility this product offers, Im able to plug it into Phone, iPad, or PC and preserve the quality of the photos. Im at a point of confusion and a bit of frustration but Id still recommend this to others as its portable, convenient and serves its main purpose. Please approach the rest of commentary with the understanding that Im very new to photo storage and upgraded from Google photos to this toshiba hard drive to preserve my raw photos. I have minimal understanding of hard drive technology and specs. My challenge is.....data transfer takes a lot longer than I anticipated/hoped. Its excruciatingly slow trying to open, view, and organize photos on my iPad. So much so that on an 11 hour flight, I wasnt able to accomplish anything. Its faster with my laptop, which makes sense to this non tech expert. That being said, its still really pretty slow and laggy when reading it. Transfer of photos from SD card to hard drive took a pretty long time, I did it in 2 phases, maybe 30 gb each time. Would love to figure out the math on what I should expect that transfer to take, maybe my expectations were too high. I dont know anything about specs, I wish I had before I bought and wish I did now. I assumed that if it can STORE 2TB of data, that it should have no problem reading 74 gb worth of items at a fair speed so I can organize them into folders. As I simply view them on my laptop, It also doesnt seem to keep them loaded as I scroll down, and it is an arduous process to group them. Maybe Im meant to transfer the photos to the computer first and look at them there, and then transfer them back? Is that how to make this work better? Ill be doing some research in my spare time. Biggest complaint - if it is such a difficult task to open up and load all the photos at once in the main folder where they default, can there be an easier way to group them into separate folders to reduce this pain point? Maybe an auto folder based on date, or all photos from 5000-6000 in one. Maybe Ill look into a software that organizes them as this is painful. I dont know if it is possible to organize the photos ahead of time from the SD card before transferring when on the go - or if I should just rethink my process all together. Other context - Ive confirmed my laptop processing capabilities are not the issue, it is the specs of the hard drive (confirmed by tech support from laptop team). HP Elitebook, new in last 5 years.

> 3 dayI placed hundreds of items (photos and videos) on this hard drive for storage. The cords readily connect to my mac computer and my ipad. Transferring the files was a simple process. I am now deleting the files from other devices. The device and cords are easily to store. The device is worth the cost.

> 3 dayThe set up was extremely obscure. Had to call a technician who went through over a dozen steps that I wouldnt have known myself. In the end it wasnt even compatible with my computer as promised.

> 3 dayI was excited about being able to use this drive on our several Macbooks and my work PC, but buy, what a nightmare! I started making copies of several very large iphoto libraries, and picture folders I had accumulated on a MAc formatted Seagate USB Drive, would leave the computer unnatended (it would take several hours to download these 5 to 10 GB files from another drive connected to the Mac) and in more occasions than I could count, I would return and see a message on the Macs screen that the drive was not ejected properly. I found the had way that this error would render the drive unrecognizable by the Mac, which required me to connect it to my Windows notebook to repair the drive, then start everything all over again. ( then error, repeat, error, repeat...) But I was very determined to finish family picture backups and I endured through it. This drive is now so slow that it is basically useless now and these countless failed attempts took so long to conclude my backups that I cant even return it to the vendor anymore. I just bought a MyCloud EX2 Ultra NAS, which I should have done from the git go. This past Sunday (04/04) night I connected the drive to my Mac to pull the backups from it to the NAS and the backup of just 1.42TB concluded this morning (Wednesday, 04/07 ). Is that acceptable to ANYONE? Dont waste your money on this slow drive, you will be stuck with a useless silver colored paper weight.

> 3 dayI purchased this rather than less expensive options because it was listed as a solid state drive - but it is not! I think this is highly problematic

Greater than one weekI bought this to use as an external HD for my steam deck, and laptop. It works awesomely. Good transfer speeds, super light, and pretty small. Good construction and very simple to use, just plug it in.
