Connects well and with good speed, however gets disconnected about every 5 minutes for a few seconds. This makes video meetings interrupt and seems unprofessional. Get something else.

I upgraded to a 1 gig internet package and needed to verify the download speeds. I used this to connect my Laptop to the Wifi Router and was pleased to be getting download speeds around 967 mbps. Without this USB C to Ethernet device I had no way to connect my Laptop to the Wifi Router as my Laptop has no ethernet port. This seems to be well made and works plug and play on Windows 11. Highly recommend this item!

Now the spring clip of the Ethernet cable has nothing to engage in the adapters port, and ethernet cables wont snap in place. The result is that the spring tension from the contacts is usually sufficient to push out the cable enough to lose connectivity. Im guessing that several of the reviews about connections working for a few minutes, then not working, may be due to this same problem. Anyway, I think this adapter has a design flaw and should be avoided.

Works on a MacBook Air M2 just fine. Basically plug and play.

I recently bought a new Acer Swift 5 laptop that has Windows 10 OS. It has a small footprint, so real estate is at a premium meaning that it was missing a port I really needed - an Ethernet port so I could hook the laptop directly to my Internet modem for maximum download speeds. The built-in wi-fi worked fine, but I really wanted a faster Internet connection. The laptop had 3 USB ports and one was a USB 3.1C Thunderbolt port. So, I looked on Amazon for an adapter that would plug into the laptops USB Thunderbolt port and give me an Ethernet port on the other end to allow me to connect to my cable modem. This adapter stood out because it had the right connectors and was reasonable in cost. When it arrived, I fired up my laptop and plugged the adapter into the laptop and connected my high speed modem, and voila! My laptop recognized my modem instantly, and I was on the Internet with a direct connection allowing me to disable my laptops wi-fi and triple my download speed. Bottom line: I am very happy with this purchase. No drivers to download. Worked instantly out of the box. Appears to be of high quality. 5-stars.

This adapter works great. Many newer laptops dont come with an ethernet port, so its nice to have the adapter on hand to plug directly into the internet connection when wifi is spotty. Its easy to connect and disconnect, and its plug and play- no downloads required. It meets all my needs.

I tried to buy this item at Best Buy but the price was unbelievable. I got the information and I went on Amazon. The price online was cut by half. It works great.

The description online states it works with Windows, MacOS, Android, Linux, etc. It also states that some versions of Android might not be compatible, but does not state which ones. Upon receiving the device, the user guide states that it is ONLY compatible with Mac OS/Windows/Linux. I tried to use it on nearly a dozen Android devices, of different OS levels, both physical devices and virtual, and not one of them worked. Will be sending back immediately.
