Some computers like the Microsoft Surface systems dont have an RJ45 plus. When I did an update to the Surface, it basically bricked the unit. While trying to finally reinstall the OS, I went only so far and then reality hit. I had no way to hook it up to my internet. I bought this UGREEN adapter to finally get my Surface back in operation. Simply put, it worked flawlessly. I was online and was able to get it a fresh install of Win11. Took a while, but I had other things to do while waiting for the install to complete. This adapter saved the day.

Do not buy this! It is better to just use wifi as this is junk. This adapter dropped my internet several times a day. I work from home so I thought this would be a better, faster internet connection option than wifi, but I was terribly wrong. It dropped me in the middle of important conderence calls that I was leading as well as I lost work when working on online documents.

Tossed in a garbage after a week! Stopped functioning well after a week

Tested the Ugreen adapter against other brands of adapters. Using iPerf the Ugreen adapter consistently tested with a maximum throughput of 250 Mbs, far less than claimed in specifications. Anker and Uni tested very close to the claimed 1000 Mbs.

I ordered this to use on android as description indicated, when received the box said it does not support android! And box description was correct it did not work with my android tablet!

Works as advertised and good value for money.
