> 3 dayinstruction manual not so good but a little button pushing needs practice. the instructions dont follow through with all necessary scenario steps necessary. mine does run on batteries. three fresh ones lasted a touch over 15 hours. reception is real good with magnetic base antenna up on top my of bird cage and its downstairs ground level + maybe six feet higher than ground level. audio quality is as expected pretty good. uniden should expand on this form factor. its an attractive rig. a more complete frequency spectrum radio would be rather nice to own with the scanner ability as well. i seldom give five stars and didnt think it deserves five but four reflects needed expansions.

> 3 dayGot this little scanner for my father-in-law who is 86. He wanted something to hear whats going on in his valley. Sensitivity seems to be ok. Easy to program if you have just a few frequencies. I programmed it for him and the lack of a whole lot of confusing knobs and switches is a plus for older folks. He just has to use the squelch and volume controls so he is good with that. Volume and sound quality are good, scanning speed is fast. Keep in mind that this is an analog only scanner so if your services use digital, youre out of luck. So far, we are pleased with this scanner.

> 3 dayWasnt too complicated to set it up. Downside is it seems to interfere w the cellular or wifi signal if youre close to the unit

> 3 dayI could not get it to program so I returned it. Amazon was very accomadating in refunding my money. Also I found out later that it would have become useless. Police Departments are going digital and are encrypting their messages and the noise I heard on my friends scanner was very irritating and he had to turn it down. You can listen to the EMS ,but not the P.D.

> 3 dayIt was not very easy to figure out, but after reading the booklet and trying different buttons it seemed to pick up some stuff. The police channel didnt have anything coming in but it might have been a slow crime time.

> 3 dayOrdered the BC365CRS on May 31st. Very fast service from Amazon, even with standard shipping. Unit arrived OK and all parts were in the pkg as advertised. This scanner is very easy to set up & program; took me just a few minutes to program the ANALOG (only) frequencies in. If you dont live in an urban setting, I recommend connecting an external antenna, as this will provide much better reception than the plug-in antenna included with the scanner. I also recommend hooking up an external speaker for best audio quality. This scanner has lots of great features such as a priority channel, FM radio, clock/alarm clock functions, lighted display, and battery back-up for programmed frequencies/clock in case of power failure. All in all, a great scanner for the money.
