> 3 dayIt is hard to program but all it takes is time. Only used it for a few days but I needed the digital. As always it’s quite expensive for an amateur.

> 3 dayThe easiest software programming interface and process that I have ever used. Have owned several Uniden/Bearcat scanners since the 90s and still have a BCD992 and BCD396XT. I would have preferred more display colors available- similar to my handheld 396 but the white background is fine. The stock telescoping antenna is functional could use a better dual band behind the set BNC connector unit. Just havent found one yet .

> 3 dayThis radio is fantastic. I was looking for a good price and kept checking around and saw Amazon had this one on a scratch and dent sale, saying that it had a one inch scratch on the back and no original box for $329. So I jumped on it. It looks perfect and works perfect! Thanks Amazon!

Greater than one weekGreat remote receiver. Works great with Proscan software webserver so you can listen to your scanner any where you have internet and a web browser.

> 3 dayGood scanner but as with any radio Id suggest to use an external speaker for better sound quality. I just received it so Im still learning how to use it. But so far its a good scanner. The one thing they should add to it is an ignition wire for it for when installed in car since they say not to wire it to your vehicles ignition since I could corrupt the SD card when it shuts off if you dont shut off manually first.

> 3 dayI can only say, if you want a quality scanner IE Police, fire, air, etc. Look no further than this! There is a small learning curve but for what all you get and can do it would be silly to think there would not be. However with the easy zip code option, you can turn it on enter zip code and do nothing else and you are up and running. The sound is great and clear too! The only con (and not a big con) is I wish for the price they would send a quality antenna with it. Dont get me wrong, the antenna that comes with it is fine but there are better antennas that will give you much better range. On the fence? Dont be.. Do it! Do it now! You know you want it.. Why wait lol. All kidding aside, I would buy again. Its a great scanner!!!

Greater than one weekThe BCD536HP is a one of the best radio scanners. The sound is great, easy to manually program frequencies, and the sentinel software is nice but takes a while to learn. It works just like my BCD436HP but larger display and larger keys to add frequencies. zip code programming is great. I had it scanning frequencies in less than 10 minutes. I would sure buy it again if I did not have one. I plugged it into my cigar lighter in my truck and it worked great.

07-06-2025WEVE ONLY HAD TWO SCANNERS IN OUR 50 YEARS OF MARRIAGE. THE SECOND ONE HAS NOW DIED, AFTER HAVING BEEN ON DAY AND NIGHT. THIS ONE WAS PRICEY BUT BEARCAT IS A GREAT REPUTATION AND, NOT KNOWING IF OUR CITY IS GOING DIGITAL OR NOT, WE TOOK THE JUMP. TOO TECHNICAL OF COURSE FOR US (75+ AGE), BUT WE HAD A TECKIE GUY PROGRAM IT FOR US. HERES TO ANOTHER 50 YEARS. . . . .OR THE ESTATE SALE.

> 3 dayEasy to program from face of radio if you hold on channel and add. Watch video on YT. Search through the full database and see what you want to listen to. Just turn off full database and your saved list will load fast. Audio is ok-good but an expert speaker would be better.

> 3 dayUnidens flagship scanner that seems to be able to do most anything you would want from a scanner. It will take some time to learn how to even begin to use it and is an ongoing learning process. The included manual is difficult to follow but Unidens support page and YouTube make up for it. I suggest this be for the serious scanner fan and not for beginners or occasional listening. There are less expensive units that will do just fine for that. One note, I do recommend an alternate scanner antenna vs. the included telescoping one for indoor. I purchased the Accessories Unlimited AUSCAN3 16 Inch Magnet Mount Scanner Antenna and it made all the difference in the world. I simply stuck it to the top of the scanner and immediately cured the static, popping and garbled transmissions that I was receiving with the included indoor antenna!
