This USB hub is made of a very high quality aluminum that matches the grade of the IMac base. The bade looks OEM in terms of feel and quality. Read and write speeds are pretty much on the dot and the biggest plus is the built in M.2 drive at the bottom of the drive (one of the very few ways to expand memory for IMacs. Highly recommend this purchase as se by any means!

Fits perfectly with iMac foot and can hold a 2TB SSD for auto back-up. Provides fast ports for thumb drives portable SSDs and more. Excellent addition to the iMac!

I purchased one for myself and my wife wanted on too. So, I purchased one for her for her iMac the blue color matched perfectly. She loves it! Works great, no more plugging into the back of the monitor.

I had this from October 2022, always worked well with a 2tb ssd installed. Didn’t push it much, only backed up small files randomly and had no issues. Recently I had my big ipad backed to my imac, and I was copying the back up file to my SSD and the dock made a funny noice and ejected the drive (and the USB thumbdrive) mid file transfer. Initially after unplugging and re-plugging the dock it showed the SSD and I could transfer files. But now this has become more frequent. And the SSD is not even showing up when I plug it in. Bit frustrating when you have 2TB of storage which you can’t use safely.

Like someone else said, it works until it stops working. Originally the SSD disc inside was randomly dropping offline, then people suggested changing the iMac power settings which I did. That worked for a few weeks but now the SSD disc inside this unit has started dropping offline AGAIN, Even with the power settings fix. Also, the USB ports are very tight and hard to plug-unplug USB connector into. For the high price of this device its just not worth it.

I set my iMac down on it and plugged in and the lights came on and I was in Fat City! I used its old-fashioned USB Port to restore 45,000 files which had become marooned on my external drive. And so Amazing Amazon had this machine and I got it!. My external drive recognized my new iMac, which does not have an old-fashioned USB port.

Apple missed the boat! This thing is a perfect match for the iMac. Mines the blue one and it’s perfect. Form, fit, finish spot on! Performance on par with what you’d expect. I put a drive in mine and it’s working flawless for Time Machine back ups. If you have an iMac this is a no brainier of a purchase.
