I bought a Techkey USB Wireless-N card many years ago and its still being used on my wifes PC. I bought this USB Wireless-AC for my daughters PC and she has used it for almost 3 months without any problem. No internet drops or slows down. Its plug-n-play on Windows 10. It came with a driver and I tried it but I didnt see any advantage. If you use the provided driver, itll install a small app to control your wireless card. It provides some advanced options but I only care about speed so I uninstalled it. My home internet is 400 Mbs and I got above 350 Mbs consistently from this adapter regardless of using Windows driver or its own driver. I put it on my labtop and walk around my house to test the wifi speed away from my wireless router. I could tell its signal reception is better than my old Wireless-N card but its the same as my built-in laptop wireless card. Since it has a long antenna, you can use this adapter on a desktop. At that price, I dont see the reason why we have to buy from a brand name. Its cheap. It works and its reliable.

I ordered and installed the Techkey USB Wifi adapter. Installation was easy. At first, it was operating at 2.4 GHz rather that 5 GHz. After doing some research online, I was able to change some driver settings to force the adapter to use 5 GHz all the time. Once I made those changes, my internet speed has improved to about 5 times from what I was getting using my old Wifi card. Big improvement! It has operated without any issues for nearly a month now.

I bought this for my son as after moving his computer setup to another part of the room, he was complaining that his computer was slower. This adapter arrived quickly and was easy to set up and use. He said that it has increased speed, so if we had issues like this again, I would definitely buy another one. He thinks we should all get one for our computers in fact.
