I bought this SSD to extend storage on my Playstation 4 and, I kid you not, overall gameplay experience (boot-up speed, game loading times, access to character settings, etc.) has skyrocketed. I love it. Im also very pleased with delivery speed by the shipper, and the great packaging. I ended buying two of them, one for me and my son.

I purchased this SSD for the sole function of backing up Macbook Air computers used by my wife and me. The backup program which I had installed on the computers had ceased to work with earlier Passport devices for some arcane reason that I really didnt understand (something to do with new Mac OS and interplay with the backup program). The good news is that backups to this unit are faster, it had double the capacity of the two prior Passport devices (I had one 500 GB drive for each computer) so I need only this one drive to backup both laptops, this Passport is much more compact than the older 500 GB drive (that is, it is smaller than one of the older drives so our backups now consume far less than 50% of the space needed previously) so it will be handy for extended travel as we are very oriented to traveling with one carry-on size suitcase each for trips that are up to 4 months in duration.

Using this as back up and to hold my FLAC music files, picture, and school stuff to keep my computer running smooth and clean. Havent had any problems, runs fast and smooth.

I bought three of these to use as convenient backup drives, and theyve served me very well so far. Fast transfer speeds and not a single problem so far -- Ive had them about a year.

All I wanted is an external SSD drive to connect to a PC with Win7 with drive utilities-- no backup/cloud/security/or unwanted apps and trial software, etc. If you are like me, then do not install the WD Discovery software-- it breaks through your firewall, sets up a scheduled tasks to update itself-- trys to install the bloatware... So, after deleting the wanted programs and leaving the drive utilities (which you can download from WD.com without the Discovery software), I am disappointed with the drive utilities too. They are not specific to SSD drives, but at least the drive is formatted with exFAT. Perhaps I am spoiled with the SAMSUNG SSD drive utilities. WD if you are watching-- Give us a choice of what to load when launching your Discovery software. And, tell us simply what privacy we are giving up to use it. (I should think for just the utilities-- there should not be any private content taken from users.)

Extremely lightweight and compact. I needed more memory for Photoshop and Liggtroom, the 2TB version was on sale for $299 and I couldnt pass it up. So far so good I partioned the drive (1.86TB available) for Storage, Camera Raw cache and a Photoshop Scratch Disk. Working like a charm so far. Appearently this is made by SanDisk which is where you register the product for the warranty. Its so light I can keep with my laptop at all times plugged in. Perfect for my needs and the price made it a no brainier.

Great product. Delivered promptly and exactly as advertised. I use it to hold all of my movies when I travel. It is blazingly fast on my MacBook Pro.

I wanted to speed up my load times on my PS4. This did the trick. The times decreased about 20-30 seconds on Anthem. The only negative is the cable is short.

it works as advertised but I really dont like the adapter that it comes with for type A USB. The samsung T5 has a seperate cable for that.

This is a great ssd, light and fast, without moving components like normal external hdds that can get scratched or wrecked. If you want a high quality drive to back up to once and then retrieve quickly later with good life expectancy, this is a great bet (if you are over-writing daily or weekly, you probably should skip SSDs). It is, however, pretty expensive. That said, its fairly comparable to similar drives and Western Digital has a long track record of quality. It just is maybe worth looking for this on sale if your need is longer term and not immediate.

The My Passport SSD is portable storage with blazing-fast transfers. Password protection with hardware encryption helps keep your content secure. Easy to use, the My Passport SSD is shock-resistant, compact storage in a cool, durable design.
