> 3 dayRecently built my new PC and found this to be a great price on an M.2 drive. Wanted to increase my boot speed and also have plenty of storage for my game library. This drive has worked great for me! Absolutely would buy again!

> 3 dayI had a problem with installing this into my laptop. Found from HP.com that I had to install the intel ready storage drivers from the driver software for my laptop. Once done had problem with the wifi installing when installing windows 11. Same fix get the drivers. Now this laptop rocks. My laptop is pcie gen3x4, even though this drive pcie gen4x4. It still rocks.

> 3 dayI was looking for a Gen4 NVMe and the WD Black SN770 is very competitive in the market for the price. In real world performance it comes close to other Gen4 NVMe’s for 25% less cost. I think that is the home run on this drive.

> 3 dayFour weeks in my machine I get a warning that the SSD is degrading! I dont know how a brand new piece of.... equipment could possibly be spent this fast. I was really happy with the WD_BLACK 4BG version I purchased two years ago from another vender. Be sure and plug your SSD in the first day. I waited few weeks and received the system warring 36 days after purchase.

05-04-2025Runs a little hot 50ish c so the heat sink might be a good option. Didnt come with a standoff so if u dont have one youre going to need a kit

> 3 dayThe first thing I did was format and speed test in a Startech PCIE adapter. Got 3044MB/sec speed on a 64GB test file with CrystalDiskMark64 which is very fast! I need the speed for recording lossless video with a Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K. The small random writes are a lot slower as you would expect without built in RAM cache

> 3 dayDrive seems to work fine but isnt anywhere near 1Tb. My system reads the brand new, unused drive as 931Gb. Thats a fairly large discrepancy between advertised space and what I got. If it had been 980-ish I wouldnt have said anything. Everything else seems to be as advertised.
