> 3 dayI got my 4 D cell MagLite while I was in the Air Force about 25 years ago. It has been a faithful tool to me through hurricanes, security around my property, road trips and just about anything I need for lighting especially in a critical situation. I had never replaced the original lens in all those years. The flashlight was beginning to shine a yellowish light and would not focus a tight beam any longer. I ordered this lens along with the Amazon suggested LED bulb. The light is now better than i recall from brand new and good for at least another 25 years. I would recommend this to anyone that has an old faithful MagLite that just needs a little more life.

> 3 dayEasy to install, seems to be clear so far. I havent used the flashlights much yet. Well see if they wont scratch like the stick plastic lenses.

> 3 dayMag lights last forever, but the lens eventually gets scratched up. I converted my light to a LED bulb and got a new lens so I’d get the most out of it. It worked out great!

Have been meaning to replace the scuffed-up plastic lenses in my aging Maglites for a long time. Finally replaced them all in one shot. Works great! Be advised that this lens is a tad thicker tan the original plastic. You wont be able to screw the lens ring down all the way flush, especially after having replaced the O-ring with the new one provided. It doesnt affect function, so dont worry about it. The thicker lens is very welcome by me as the plastic one is extremely thin. (my plastic lenses were pretty banged up and two had a slight age tint to them) Other than cautions that this is in fact a glass lens and should be treated with care, I recommend it without reservation. Makes a big difference in the light output compared to the old plastic lens. The difference was *very* surprising! Good investment for the old Maglites.

> 3 dayAdvice... dont mix up the gaskets! The gasket that comes with the lens fits inside the bezel before putting the lens in. It IS NOT for the base of the male threads on the body of the flashlight reflector after unscrewing the bezel, which is a slightly larger gasket. I accidentally put the new o-ring on the male treads and tried to put my old reflector gasket inside the bezel. This prevented me from being able to tighten the bezel all the way in order to focus and fine tune the beam. Now that I figured it out & switched the gaskets back, it is focused down to a very fine bright center beam. Very happy with this purchase now!

> 3 daySuitable replacement for my 4x D Cell Maglite. Measured 2mm thick with my calipers. Glass is durable and scratch resistant -- I just dropped it from a height of about 3 feet onto my desk while unscrewing the head to measure it with my calipers, and then I dropped the flashlight head on top of it, and then it bounced and landed on the floor. No chips, scratches, or cracks yet. I reckon Im good for another 15 years or so.
