> 3 dayI purchased 2 of these to use in a mirrored RAID configuration in my NAS drive at home. We mainly use it for media storage though I have backups going there as well. Performance wise they have been solid thus far though they can be a little bit loud when they are getting a lot of use. Overall Ive been super happy with these drives and would not hesitate to go with these again in the future.

01-04-2025I installed these drives into a Dell PowerEdge R210 II and they are working flawlessly so far. Its been a week. They are running in an Unraid server. I was thinking that they may need jumpers set to support 3Gbps SATA settings, but they worked magically out of the box.

> 3 dayHaving a synology NAS, I know to test drives first before installing now as it creates a nightmare if you get a bad drive when trying to rebuild an array. Arrived sealed, although not a tight seal, so who knows but it gives a little bit of peace of mind.

> 3 dayIve never had any problems with any WD drive Ive ever purchased, but I received one this past week that would not work in my new NAS. I submitted an exchange and they quickly sent out another before I could send the bad one back. Very impressed with the customer service - highly recommend.

> 3 dayThose HDDs which I got as 20 TB is not actually 20 TB, it is 1.4 TB less or 18.6 TB. I can live without that 1.4 TB for now, but there should be an explanation or disclaimer in the description why you will get not 20 but 18 TB... You can see it in the screenshot. Other than that it is ok. Very quiet and hold the data pretty well. And, oh boy, it is fast!

> 3 dayBought two of these (12TB) as an upgrade from 2x WD 6TB Reds on my Qnap NAS. Only thing I’ve noticed thus far, in the two days they’ve been installed, is that they are VERY LOUD (compared to my old 6TB). Thus, the drop of a star in my review. That said, for anyone who plans on buying these, I don’t recommend installing them in a box that’s near a bedroom or any location where mechanical sounds will disturb you — unless you don’t mind the intermittent sound of a HDD loudly spinning. Notes: I read some forums that say the “loudness” is not unusual with some of the red pro models (WD gold models are loud too apparently), but, hey, as long as they run well…

> 3 dayThis 14 TB drive is 12.7 TB formatted in Windows. These drives are great. I also have a 8 TB (7.27 TB in Windows) version that is still going strong after 2.5 years running 24/7.
