Western Digital 4TB WD Purple Surveillance Internal Hard Drive HDD - SATA 6 Gb/s, 256 MB Cache, 3.5 - WD42PURZ

The drives a piece of junk. DOA. The motor doesnt even seem to spin. It was purchased supposedly new from HardDriveGeeks through Amazon.

Actually, used in a NVR to record 4 video streams but the needs are the same as for a security system. NOT made in China so it should last. Never get any HD made there. Any other Asian country but not China. Thailand, Malaysia, Japan (of course), Korea, Singapore, Vietnam but avoid Chinese ones.

Broke after 15 days. Drive doesnt get detected in Windows or Linux. I get ntfs_pread failed: Input/output error in Linux and Disk1Unitialized Disk in windows. Return period was only 10 days and couldnt even return. Had to claim WD warranty for replacement

Esse HD veio com defeito. Estou dondo 3 estrelas pelo atendimento e reembolso do valor que paguei

El disco no funciona, al ponerlo no se detecta, esta dañado, no sirve, solo perdí mi dinero, recomiendo no compren aquí, es un fraude. Tengo varios años comprando en Amazon y es la primera vez que me sale algo defectuoso pero lo malo es que para las devoluciones no es fácil y me siento defraudado.

Ordered hundreds of HDDs, never got one just thrown in a box like this before. A few weeks of use and the drive is failing. Just going to RMA it with Western Digital, at least they ship drives properly.

I was able to replace my failed HD in my UDM Pro with this 6TB WD Purple hard drive. I did not have to do anything special, just install it. I still retrieve my videos as quickly as before.
