These are excellent whole house filters. They dont take out the chllorene taste, but otherwise they do a good job cleaning the water.

The filter is exactly as advertised and it was shipped quickly, but I was very disappointed to find this exact product at the Lowes down the street for significantly less money (especially because I bought more than one). Shame on me for not googling the part number before I purchased, but I as Lowes are ubiquitous to most of us I cant justify paying a lot more money for seemingly no reason. Outside of the pricing issue, the filter works very well. My incoming pipes are extremely old and I use this as a whole-house filter with replacement every 3 months. Within a week it starts turning orange from all the rust it catches, and Im sure that rust and sediment would be screwing up my insta-hot water heater pretty bad if the filter wasnt in place.

This products was deliver within 2 days. It was an easy installation. So far I am very happy with the product and the delivery system.

The rings on both of the filters were mostly broken, cracked, and crumbling off. Still seeing cloudy water after running for 30 minutes. It came in shrink wrap and not a box so they were probably knocked around. Poor choice of shipping practice. Also the shrink wrap had a 2019 sticker on it so may have been old. I would stay away from this whirlpool brand and find a different replacement filter even though I have the whirlpool system

I have an older water filtration system, and have been unable to find genuine replacement filter cartridges. The Whirlpool filter fits fine, but it leaves a bit of an unpleasant taste in the water for several months. This has happened to me twice with these filters so I am pretty sure its not just something gone south in the city water. The unfortunate taste goes away eventually, and then the water is fine again. For those who may wonder such things, I flushed the fresh cartridge out as they instructed before first use. Maybe next time Ill run twice as much water through and see if that makes a difference.
